Morning ~O) ~O) and one of the lowest blue AMPS in a while. Mannie, looking forward to my delivery Espresso and surprise venti coffee drink. :-D Oh yikes, I did a fur shot this morning for sure as the needle came thru the other side and jabbed me. I normally have Mags on my lap when I shoot, but this time she was asleep in my bed, and I thought I'd try shoot there and not disturb her. I hear others doing similar shootings! :? As i was just starting the injection, Mags did a nice stretch and thus the boo boo shot! I did smell the Lantus, but maybe a little got in anyway. Oh well, if anything, this will give both Mags and me a poke holiday. Hope she doesn't go too high up on the skyscraper. Otherwise Mags is purry, chatty, good appy and critter patrol ongoing. Have a nice Monday. I have meds to pick up at the Vet later and lancets at Walmart nearby. I think we will have another nice cooler weather day! :-D

Good morning Ann! I'm waiting on Mannie's special delivery too - boy, how we've gotten addicted to his delights!

POO on the fur shot, especially after such a nice AMPS. I hope Maggie doesn't shoot to high - tell her no visiting the Empire State Building with the crew today in NYC - she's got no need to hit those higher floors. Have a good day!

Ann, so sorry about the missed poke. Hope you didn't hurt yourself with the needle. Maybe your blood sugar will be a little lower today. Time for another yummy coffee drink to get it back up. :lol:

:lol: :lol: Georgia, hey I never even thought about me getting the insulin. That would be a good excuse for me to eat a piece of cake, right! :lol: I should test myself.

Nice start for Maggie. Bummer on the fur shot but she will bounce back in no time. Maybe you can use that as an excuse to do something for yourself today. Have a great day Ann!

Nice start for Mags! That is exactly how I did the two fur shots I gave Trix...in one side of the tent, and out the other - except I didn't know it until I was done with the shot and felt juicy fur. With Trix, she did seem to get some of the juice, because her numbers did come down a bit.

Well :? guess that was a real fur shot! Mags bg is 222, and mine is 91 after a bowl of oatmeal!

Mary & Oliver, yes, Mags will be happy with lesser pokes! She's already snuggled up in a blanket on her recliner.

Georgia, come to think of it, I did feel a little lethargic after Maggie's shot! :lol: But it was still so early and not unusual for me to feel tired.

Melissa, that's a good idea. When I'm out today, I won't be checking my watch wondering what time I need to be home to check on Mags.

Hi Amy, I know I've done fur shots before and some juice always got in, but this time no cigar. I guess we know how much she needs the juice.

Hi Ann. Sounds like you might have made that fur shot. I'm beginning to believe there are two types of folks in LL. Those that have given fur shots and those that are going to. For you, it's good Lantus is a human insulin.

Much as we hate higher numbers, it does take the stress out of going out for the day. Mags will be down, soon enough :-D

Well, Maggie is purry and happy, she doesn't care. Going out and not having to worry is a precious gift around here. Tahke advantage, mags will be back to normal in a flash. I've found that after a furshot/skip Tess get back to good numbers much faster than when she is bouncing.

Emma and I are off to a playdate at a park. Our car broke down on the freeway the other day, and we missed our last chance to see other kids at baby sign language class. We haven't seen Max lately. I have a feeling he's exploring his new existence and finding it very interesting. I imagine him having fun chasing things and then sitting in the warm sun in the afternoons perfectly content. Maybe he's able to go places he couldn't when he was alive such as under the ocean. I always knew he would have loved to see what I saw when I scuba dived. I miss him so, though.

Sorry Maggie had a fur shot when her numbers were so nice but it definitely was one. Those numbers are so typical of a fur shot. :lol: Exactly what Racci's look like when I screw up! They go up every test, slowly but surely. :lol: Make sure you eat something with sugar. You really do need it if you got her insulin.

Hi and thanks for all the visits. Yup, that definitely was a furbie shot, and I must have gotten some of the juice, as I was so tired all morning. I had to come home though by Noon as I get water delivery.

Hi John & Frosty, thanks for your visit. I guess I am a part of both of those LL people! :lol: I learned my lesson, no more shooting wherever the cat is sleeping. Pick her up and on the lap from now on! I heard some of you shoot as the cat is eating! :? I wouldn't dare try that one, as who knows where the shot would land!

Barb & Checkers, it sure does take away the stress of looking at the watch and worrying if kitty is okay. I'll have some cake soon. I picked up a coffee while running errands to stay awake. This was after mannie's coffee. ~O)

Ann & Tess, I hope Maggie doesn't make too fast a track getting back to normal tonight, just nice and slow go would be nice! :-D She is feeling really good and purry and has a smirk just because I screwed up!

Dale & Emma, so good hearing from you. Yes the needle pinched and drew blood. Now I know how poor Mags feels with all those pokes. Wow with the car breaking down on the freeway. Were you able to get help right away with auto club hopefully! I've always dreaded that happening. Too bad about the last meeting with the sign language group though. I bet Max is having a good time exploring the ocean. I think he's probably met Mikey by now. I can only begin to imagine how much you miss him.

Melanie, agree with these numbers being typical of a fur shot :lol: I had my fingers crossed when I did the +6, but I don't think any juice got in her. I think I've already had my Nadir! :lol: No more pokes for Mags until PMPS!

Yeah for easing off on the pokies! I have to find the positives in a fur shot today. I just did a nice low blue start fur shot myself today. I'm glad I've got company. :lol: I had Neko on my lap for the shot too. I'm with you on not shooting when she is eating, her head is moving around too much then.

Enjoy the rest of your afternoon. It sounds like you have permission to eat cake. :-D

That's too bad on the fur shot, but at least you can enjoy a poke free day. The last couple of times I have given Furball a fur shot was because she was laying somewhere different and I didn't want to disturb her. I've learned I have to move her or I won't get the shot right.

I had a hard time getting a drop for some reason, and Mags was losing her patience with me. I wasn't sure I had a large enough drop on the Arkay, so I tested on my back-up which read lower.

Wendy, I'm glad I have some company with the fur shot! :lol: This time I had Mags on my lap, so she had a good shot.

Carla, so true when we get used to shooting in one place, and they get used to it, too.

Wow, what a difference with the meters! I knew they are apart by some, but that's a lot. Well, now that I think about it, with the % variation, what is it, +/-10%? Then the Arkay could actually be around 340ish and the Confirm could actually be around 330ish. Hmmm.

I shoot Leo when he is eating. I put down the bowl and he goes to town. I kneel next to him. I don't have to hold him. I know that he knows it's coming, and he really does try to ignore it, but sometimes it hurts him a little and he flinches. But rarely does he try to bolt. The food distracts him. I tried once to shoot him as soon as I got in the door and before I tested/fed because I was running late once, and he tried to bolt that time. Like you said, they get used to a spot. :-D

Oh wow, I am happy with this number. After doing a 100% fur shot and getting some of the insulin on Maggie's fur and part in me, I hope we are on our way back to whaever is normalcy in LL! :-D

Lisa, I wonder why the variance between the two meters. I tend to think the 295 was the correct bg, as I didn't feel comfortable with the amount of blood on the strip with the Arkay. Wow. I am amazed that you can shoot Leo while he's eating. I need to have Mags on my lap and get a good grip of the scruff.
 
Ouch on poking yourself. I was always afraid of doing that. nailbite_smile
I was one of those who shot while she ate. But towards the last weeks she would growl at me letting me know I was taking away her
pleasure of eating. So she would wait until I was done to eat.

Hope Maggie keeps sliding...
 
Hi Ann - sorry for the late visit... what with DGS all day, and now Mannie's PJ party, I am so behind on condo visiting... I hope your day has been a good one. :-D

bummer on the fur shot this AM, it is so good to see her coming back down for the PM cycle. GO MAGS!
