...because he did not want to be outdone by Lucian's 331 of last night!

Still giving skinny 1.5u and looking forward to getting mid-cycle tests this weekend if I can walk.

I am actually a little worried. The kittens did great coming through their little colds naturally. They are honing their immune systems all their natural mechanisms kicked in properly to ward off the illness. They are at that stage where they sound worse than they feel. They are playing and running around again. I read a the portion of Michelle Bernard's book, "Raising Cats Naturally" that talks about URIs in kittens and everything I was doing (and my awesome vet suggested) is exactly what she recommends.

BUT... now my 5 year old civvie is sick. This scares me because he is five and this could be a serious illness for him. I am calling the vet on Friday because he said if the momma cat wasn't better he would call something in to the pharmacy for me. I just have to make sure he eats. I will syringe feed if I have to. Alska and my other civvies don't seem to be bothered. I am done with fostering after this. I want off the list serve that comes around and talks about these precious darlings who are in the shelter and are going to be killed if someone doesn't come forward - in capital letters. I am glad I did it for this bunch but not at the risk of losing my own cats. It is not worth it.

Hang in there girl. I understand how you feel. My mom had to have the feral s picked up today because they were going to evict her for feeding them. She's heartbroken, but on SS and can't afford to be spending $20 a week feeding feral s. She has 2 of her own, a 6mo old feral she's trying to domesticate and a 10 yr old that's declawed and can't protect himself from the feral. She should have never gotten another one under those circumstances. I told her it wasn't fair to him, but she won't listen. Now she's all crying and such cause she's been feeding the ferals at her apt complex for 4 years.

I'd have to agree, it's not worth risking the health of your babies. Seems they should have kept them until they were well or not contagious anyway.

Well they said I should have "expected it" because all kittens coming out of shelters are sick. That pissed me off royally and I told them they should have warned me. We had some email quarrels about it and now they are holding a meeting at the end of January which is good because they need to keep fosters more informed. I don't know if these kittens would have gotten sick if I hadn't taken in the mother with the newborns for two nights. She was sick but I only had one room. Oh well, lessons are sometimes hard. I just have to hope everything will be alright with my Bing.

Sad story about your mother's ferals. Apartment complexes are so unforgiving for this. We were feeding one in our complex once and even got it some vet care but he did not want to be inside. The maintenance crew kept catching him and taking him to the shelter. We kept going out there and paying the $10 to get him out. I finally took him to a friends horse stable in Maryland and left food in her tackle box every other weekend. He lived there for several years and then wandered on to his next adventure.

I am sure your pies will be just as good on Friday. I would eat the JD yams tomorrow and let him know that they just would not have lasted until Friday!

So which one was in the cat bed (in your posted picture)?
