Vinnie has been in the blues and greens for the past week but this morning he jumped up to 248. Yesterday was the bent needle day with the question of whether or not he got insulin. Is it possible the insulin did not go in after all but his response was delayed?

It's possible. Remember, there's a depot. Vinnie may have "borrowed" from his depot and now the depot is depleted. Alternatively, his numbers may have gone lower than what you saw at +4 and he's bouncing.

Looks like it might have been a bounce. He dropped almost 200 points in 3 hours and is now at 58. I just gave him medium carb food. Should I give him high carb now or test again in 20 minutes and see?

See how he responds to the MC food after about 20 min. If he's dropping or flat, you can bump him up with HC. Just don't give a ton of HC unless it's warranted.

The drop into the 50s means Vinnie gets a dose reduction.

Just retested and he's 54 so I gave him a tsp of hc. Will test again in 20.

I ended up testing him about 10-15 minutes after the hc and he dropped to 48 but I don't think the food had enough time to work yet. Just tested again and he went up to 60 so I think we're good.

Good catch, looks like you spotted that reduction number too. Keep testing, higher carbs can wear off in a couple hours.
