Nice start for both boys today! I can't even remember a day when both boys made it into the lagoon at the same time - so, Walter, how about a little swim with your brother?

Other than that, not much new here. I am feeling a bit better and my voice is starting to come back, but I am still taking it easy today. Hope everyone is having a nice Caturday!

Both boys look great, Christina.
Glad you are feeling better - rest that voice - hot toddy, humidity. Recently I have been taking slippery elm bark (making the slurry) and it really is quite soothing - while used mostly for GI issues, I am wondering if that would soothe a sore throat?

Well, the boys' cycles started out a lot more exciting than what they turned out to be. Walter was apparently not int he mood for water and ran the other way. o_O Mandarin is at least hanging out at the beach - maybe he will avoid the bounce since he didn't drop too low. One can hope, right?

Slippery Elm is one of the main ingredients in the "Throat Coat" tea that I found. It's a combination of licorice root, slippery elm bark, and marshmallow root and it is surprisingly tasty and soothing.

How are the girls doing?
Flora is doing GREAT! She is getting huge and has a beautiful, shiny coat. The switch to homecooked food worked wonders for her. Iris is still really congested. I don't think the Pred has made any kind of a difference for her and today is her last day. She is also still underweight. But the amazing thing is that none of this slows her down. She is active and playful and just a little lovebug. I am having a much harder time than her accepting this as a potentially chronic issue.

Iris is still really congested.
Refresh my memory, please. Is the congestion just in her nose or in her chest? If in her nose, one thing my vet suggested was infant nose drops. I think they're called "Little Noses". Of course, administering them is not the easiest thing in the world, but I think they did help Sasha.

How does Iris eat - did the pred increase her appetite?
I still think there are allergens in the air - I'm congested and although I thought I could go ahead and stop Murphy's allergy meds, I've had to actually increase them. We need a good first snow
