Hope to see some movement on this new dose, day 2 today. Yesterday am cycle seemed to have nice reaction to the smidge of an increase.
Maybe she stayed higher last night since I fed 12% dinner and snacks since I went out.
Who knows. ;)

Meeting my nutritionist today so we will see what her opinion is on the current state of Ivy.

Safe surf to all :cat:

Hi Staci,

I hope talking to Ivys nutritionist gives you helpful new insights! Please give us an update about it! And I hope Ivy starts to show you some more blue numbers again on the new dose.

I send you many hugs and a big kiss for sweet Ivy! :bighug::kiss::bighug:

Hi Heike, I am patiently waiting for Ivy to work this dose ;)

I had the meeting earlier and she’s going to make me a few higher carb recipes to have for when Ivy goes very low and I want to bring her up since I don’t have that on hand.
She thinks Ivy looks good on paper overall she looked at her labs and her glucose situation and think she looks pretty good. I’ve been working with her for about 2.5 years now so she knew Ivy before we were dealing with diabetes.
She doesn’t think that I should add any alternative protein recipes since Ivy does so well with her lamb. (She sees lots of animals that don’t do so well on new recipes).
She thinks that it may not be worth trying other novel proteins at this time since Ivy is so stable on the lamb.
She’s always afraid of rocking the boat because you never know what you’re gonna get, she feels if it’s not broken let’s not try to fix it. At the moment and I kind of agree with that.
She may give me some ideas on how I can incorporate some vegetables just to get a little bit of other antioxidants and things into her diet. Sort of like a topper to her food and see how she tolerates that.
She did remind me that since I use egg yolk powder in essence I am giving a chicken product in a way. And because I also use cellulose, that is a plant fiber.
So I will wait for her report from our meeting, but she said it will take her over a week to get it to me. She’s quite busy. This is the longest I’ve had to wait for her report.

I hope you and Binie are doing well today. And have a calm night with kisses for Binie. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Diane, it was a good meeting. I really like her.
It’s ok I can wait. She’s very thorough and sends me a comprehensive report so that’s always very helpful.
Thanks for checking in with us. Hope you’re feeling well. How’s everything going with you?

Wow how great! I wonder if we have a nutritionist somewhere that does tele health. I’d like to cook for my boys (although my cooking in the past had mixed reactions, Muz adored my cooking but Methos was not a fan). But how do you keep it ready to use?

Forgot to say I cook the food, then freeze it in a batch of a few days.

As needed I defrost and add the few supplements needed and keep in fridge For next few days (or I’ll mix a batch with the supplements for about 4-5 days, refreeze with the supplements in meal sized portions and pull out as needed in fridge to defrost).

I have a few carb % recipes so I have those ready to defrost as needed (9 and 12% in meal sized portions). And I have smaller portions prepared in 9 % & 12% and defrost a small 22 gram or so portion so at all times I can feed if Ivy is lower (it defrosts quickly if needed I just immerse in a bowl of hot water since it’s a tiny portion)

It takes me being prepared ahead of time and being organized. Everything is labeled and I date it as I defrost and only keep the small portions a few days then toss if unused.
I hope that wasn’t too confusing.
;)

Hi Staci,

thank you so much for the interesting report! I am glad you get some higher carb recipes soon, so you can keep the good quality of her food, even you have to give higher carb. No Mc Donalds for Ivy any more. :cat:

It is interesting, she has better results with not changing the protein. So more delicious lamb for Ivy! And interesting thought that the egg yolk powerder is poultry. Makes sense to me. Ton incorporate veggies in her diet sounds interesting. I always thought cats can not digest veggies but I am sure she will find a good way. By cellulose, do you mean the psyllium husks?

Sorry you have to wait for the report. But on the other hand it is a good sign, she is quite busy.

And over all I am happy that she thinks that Ivy is doing quite well. What a relief and good to hear this from another expert!

I hope you have a relaxed day! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

You are really the most organized person I know, Staci! So amazing. I could never manage. Ivy is really lucky! :cat:
