I hope everyone had a great weekend, and a good Sunday yesterday. I spent mine at home, with a few local hikes to add some outdoor time to a weekend full of chores and errands and general relaxation recovery time from a very busy week with the boys. Sunday was an outdoor day for me, at least in the morning. We never made it much above 45, but it was sunny, and gorgeous outside. The sunrise was so pretty: full of color and all sorts of cloud patterns. The rest of the day was spent trying to get a handle on some early holiday prep, and shopping. I got somethings accomplished, so bring on Christmas... well. no. not quite yet. I need my Turkey day first. Here's what I wrote last night about the day: ""Morning Everyone! I decided to take off early this morning, hike the trails to the shore. The skies were clear, and one could see the makings of an awesome sunrise. So off I went. What an absolutely gorgeous morning to be out on the trails. I had hoped to make the sunrise at the shore, missed that by 15 minutes, but did catch the tail end of it all. We are cold here, 31 when I headed on out. I love what frost does to things... the transformation. On my way home I managed to hit the trail when the sun was finally able to make it's way through the trees. That was incredibly pretty. What an awesome morning. Meadowdale just never disappoints. Enjoy the photos. There are some train videos in there too - those I took for Nicholas. He's come to look forward to what trains I see on these Sunday morning walks I do. Have a great afternoon everyone. Time for me to spend a little time with that online shopping.... " The link in the text is from the mobile uploads I did during my stay there. Main Album: More Meadowdale

Normalcy in MusketeerVille!   What to say about the kitties.... I have started a Christmas Stocking for William - you know the ones you hang on the fireplace mantle for Santa to fill. These are knit, rather large at 2 feet long. Designs are then stitched onto the body of the sock when completed. I'm not sure yet what William will have. Nicholas has a 4 car train on his. anyways.... I am getting things started, got the yarn moving along on the needles, and realize that I have a helper.   DUH!!!! Lola.... she's got the other end of the yarn ball in her mouth running across the floor with it. Once I got that back she decided that whacking at the knitting needles was the thing to do.   Then she decides to chew on the yarn that hand dangled on the floor. oh great - wet and slobbery by the time I got to knit that yarn string in.  :? This went on and on for over an hour. grr_red LOLA!!!!!! you gotta love it. Bug was MIA, and was Elsa. Smart kitties. We had alot of window banging going on yesterday. Any glass surface Lola could find she banged on with her front paws: over and over again, and very fast.   It is incredible how loud that sound really is... Bug and Elsa split when they heard that. Guess they figured it couldn't be good... They know Lola too well.   Big has become very affectionate in the evening, He will come and sit on my lap, lay down for a nap, and will stay there for as long as I do. That is so nice. On these cold nights that extra warmth sure is nice. Elsa continues to prefer to have her snuggle time at night, while I sleep. She curls herself around my head. You gotta love that too. YUPP! Normalcy in MusketeerVille!

Have a great day everyone! I'm not too sure what will be here today. One of those days when I shall see what comes to be. I may hike, if the weather holds. Paws crossed that it does.

KITTIES! Remember: think BLUE, think GREEN cat_pet_icon

LOL...been there, done that with the knitting! Years ago, I taught myself the very basics of knitting. My Zen was obsessed! He would sit there and stare while he plotted his move, either against the yarn or the needles! I would wait until he was sound asleep on the other side of the house until I would try to knit, but being the radar ears that he is, he heard the very first clack of the needles and BAM! There he was.It took a few months, but I actually did get him desensitized. That year, I made everyone scarves for Christmas...and I haven't picked up my needles since then (we opened the bead store shortly after....total lack of time.) I hope you get through William's stocking before Christmas  !!!

Have a great day, Michelle!

I love the pictures of Meadowdale. That is so pretty with the sun streaming through the trees and the frost on everything.

 On your helper with the knitting. How sweet that Bug will take naps on your lap in the evening.

Morning Amy ~O) ~O) ~O) Oh yes on Lola and that yarn, and those needles. It was nuts. Bug came to check it out once: he wnated to rub his face on the needles, and could have cared less about the yarn. Too funny with Zen. I too hope I get this done before Christmas, just not alot of time.... ;-) THX on today - I am off in a few to catch the sunrise at the shore.

H Carla ~O) ~O) ~O) THX on the photos. It is such a gorgeous place at the signs of first light, the rising sun. I agree: very very pretty with the sun as it was yesterday, and still having the frost there. I am headed down again today to see more. Love it at sunrise there. oh yes on that kitting! We shall see how today goes. I suspect it will be more of the same. Me too on Bug. I love that time spent.

Gorgeous pictures again Michelle! Really liked how the sun peeking through the trees looked. And the birdy was also a hit :-D What is up with Lola banging on the windows?? I have never heard of a cat doing that! Being a wee noodle while bean is trying to be crafty...that sounds familiar tho :-D Enjoy your kitty snuggles and a hike if you decide to go today! I'm online shopping today as the window guys will be here so can't leave the house :-D

Lola and Bug I need turkey pie with extra feathers please. I'm not used to these greens and they don't make me feel very good so I gotta get my appy-tite back. Please Elsa a mocha for my mom cause she hasn't really had the sleep she needs and I can tell she needs the sugar to help make her super more sweet today.

Hi, Michelle, is Lola telling you she wants her own stocking? ;-) Hmm... I wonder what design would be on hers...
Have fun making William's stocking ~ I bet it will be adorable (pics when finished, please?).
Enjoy your day today ~ and your snuggly kitties cat_pet_icon cat_pet_icon cat_pet_icon

Good Morning Michelle and thanks for the great frost pics :-D
Silly Silly Lola   She just never stops  Bug and Elsa must roll their eyes a lot
Enjoy your sunrise walk this morning!

Morning everyone! WooHOO! Things are off to a good start today. I headed out early for a walk to teh shore. What a great morning to be out on the trails... darn cold, 33, but the sun was coming up, the trails were waiting, so off I went. I had hoped to make first light there, and catch the sunrise. SUCCESS! It was gorgeous. I also visited the creek to see if the salmon run here was still going on. I found three in one section. These guys have been through the war, look so tired and are really beat up, yet they still make the run. It is so very cool to watch. I will post the photos in tomorrow's condo, but for now here is a teaser: photos from my mobile upload this morning (including a train video for Nicholas): First Light, Meadowdale

Morning Kim ~O) ~O) ~O) THX on the pics. I love that place when the sun first starts to come up. With good sunrises all is reflected off of the eater - exceptional. I got lucky with the light and the trees yesterday. It was beautiful: right place at the right time. Cool on the bird, huh! Lola has always been a window/glass surface banger. it is crazy.... I have to get another video of that. THX on all - and I will do, for sure! Good luck with your window guys, and enjoy that online shopping. :-D

Morning Josie ~O) ~O) ~O) oh HAHA on Lola - maybe she does! oh oh... now I meed to make one kitty size.  oh wow on the design! I dunno! Maybe a self-portrait!  TX on the stocking, and will do on the pic when it is finished. Will do on the day. :-D

Morning Pam ~O) ~O) ~O) Hey - your are welcome on teh pics. I LOVE frost.  I so agree on Lola - non -stop entertainment. I think so too on bug and kola. Lots of eye-rolling.... THX on the walk - it was GREAT!

Sounds like great weather for a hike. Love the pictures. So peaceful. Too cute with Lola wanting to knit. I have been trying to teach myself the last couple of years. Hard to teach an old dog new tricks. Have a great day Michelle!

Hi Michelle,
Those pics of first light are so beautiful. The sunrise in Meadowdale is definitely worth getting up early for.

Knitting. How ambitious! Lola could be a hindrance, however! Don't let her swallow that yarn!!!

The kitties are doing Central Park today. Rusty is so happy that Elsa, Bug, and Lola are here. I think Mannie must be watching the activities.

Enjoy your hiking days, shopping days, knitting days!

Ella & Rusty

Hi everyone! Hope the day has been a good one for everyone. I enjoyed mine. nothing too rushed, just at whatever pace I wanted. Love days like those. After the shore walk this morning I went to Snohomish to check out the new Aquatics Center being built three. WOW! IS that ever nice. It is still a construction/hard hat zone, so one cannot get inside. But I could peek through windows. Wow on the competition pool: 10 lanes, lots of deck space, built in bleachers. Really nice. Play area looks good too, lots of water works, slides etc. It was a bit hard to tell from looking through windows, but still.... should be an awesome facility. There is alot of land there too, grassy areas, play equipment at the bottom of one small hill: lots of outdoor space to be used when weather is nice. I loved all the windows, lets lots of light in. I took a short time at disk last night to watch the sunset at a local beach park. That was outstanding. Such color! I feel fortunate to have so many great places near the water to go to and be able to see sunsets like the one we had tonight. I will post the Picassa links in tomorrow's condo. In the meantime, here is a teaser: the mobile uploads done while I as there: Sunset at Picnic Point

Hi Melissa - It was! Cold, but sunny. perfect for hiking. THX too on the pics. It was just that: very peaceful, and I was the only one there. oh yes on Lola... little miss helper. She always wants to do what ever it is that I am doing. Such a sweetie... :-D

Hi Ella - THX on the pics. it was so pretty down there. First light, to me, is the best,. it has such a quality to it. and yes, it was worth going down there in the dark. LOL ion the kitting. I used to all the time, way back ion the dark ages.... And yes on Lola, she kept trying to play with the needles and the yarn It was a battle to keep her out of the yarn. Affirmative on the swallowing. THX on today - it was all great.
I hear that the kitties are having a grand time in Central park - hot dogs! Elsa and Lola and Bug were packed and ready to go yesterday. :-D Mannie always loved the NYC trips. Central Park and all those hot dogs won out every time. That and the Blue Mannie Group/Club. I a sure he is watching.... woldn't miss it for anything.

As always, I love hearing about your hikes, sun rises, and the such. Of course, life isn't complete without the kitty reports! Silly Lola and her desire to be mama's little helper! lol! Enjoy your evening, Michelle!

Lots of great photos today Michelle. The sky at sunrise and sunset are so beautiful - you are so lucky to live so close to the shore for those photos. We are a bit of a drive away, and it's mostly industrial  unless I drive further. The train videos are cool. When I load up the page, all of them start playing without me doing anything. I'm sure Nicholas will love them.

Neko used the "help" me with hand quilting. She used to lie on top of where I wanted to quilt, in spite of the pins.  And knitting - don't even try it.  Probably safe now that she's a little older.

I love the stories of how your kitties cuddle. Cool how Bug is a lap warmer - they come in handy these days. And Elsa as the extra pillow - how sweet.

Morning everyone ~O) ~O) ~O)

Hi Deborah ~O) THX on all. It is all fun for me,love the hikes, and am grateful I can get out and do them. me too on my crazy little helper. What good girl she is, well most of the time. :-D

Hi Wendy ~O) THX on the pics. I am ever so grateful that I live in a place that is so clsoe to the water, and part of a park system that is minimally developed. That makes for great walks and hikes that are so close to home. Too funny on the train videos! I didn't know they'd load right away. cool! Too fun n Neko and the hand quilting... our kitties! Bug decided last night he wanted to check out the kitting too. He laid on top of it all, making it impossible to work the needles.  THX too on my cuddlers. I am grateful that they do. Lola is, at the moment, cuddled up on my lap.
