This bounciness is just crazy! I mean, Tink has always liked to bounce... but I'm not even seeing REASONS for half of these PS numbers. And how quickly he jumps into the bounce is weird. 11/22 at +10 he's at 240, then two hours later he's nearing 500!?! And why the big number that morning? He only fluctuated 100 pts the whole cycle the night of the 21st.

In any case... I guess I'll be increasing on Wednesday. I'll be home for 4 days straight, so good time to do it. Despite the beautiful first two cycles we saw at this dose, we haven't seen green (or even much blue) since then. :(

Hi Jen! Just curious..how old is the insulin. I looked at his ss and saw you started new insulin back in June, but didnt see anything in your comments since then. Just a thought..

Edited to say..oops, saw you switched to Lantus in August..I didnt scroll over far enough

The insulin is fresh. Each pen only lasts a little over a month and we're about half-way through the current one - I've just been horrible about notating that in the SS. We're on our 3rd pen, with the first one being started in August (the first one lasted longer since we were on smaller doses).

Again his morning he was in the upper 400's. Down to the 300's at +3.

On the bright side... from what I've seen recently, it looks like he's not diving as crazy as he was (anti-jinx!!!!) - he falls fast at +2 but then rides it out pretty well. I'm thinking the fall at +2 might be causing the subsequent bounces though. I just don't know! Hoping that going up to 3units was enough to stop the dives, and that going to 3.25 will maybe stop the bouncing. HOPING. Story of my life at this point.

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to kiss any last shred of sanity goodbye today. Poor planning on my part has resulted in the need to buy dog food (Costco) and test strips (Walmart) two days before Thanksgiving. I hate entering these stores on a NORMAL day. I REALLY should have planned ahead for the shopping chaos known as "the holidays". ohmygod_smile
