Good morning LL!

Just got a call from the vet's office. Kibby's temp is down to 100.1 this morning. He ate all the food they left him overnight, and the staff was greeted with purrs and paw kneading this morning when they got there. He was happy to see them! Dr is going to keep him on the IV fluids today and run a few more tests. He wants to recheck the pcv to make sure the anemia is not getting worse and some test to make sure he is producing RBC's. I have the DGD's all day again today, so I'm just as glad he's spending the day there. DD is off tomorrow, tho, so if Dr feels he can come home tonight, I will be able to keep an eye on him tomorrow. I get to go visit in about 45 mins, and I'll take something smelly with me. Will keep you all updated! I am feeling pretty good about all this atm!

Re: 11/24 Kibby in the ER for the weekend

Kibby's temp was normal all day, and he did eat. However, the anemia is getting worse. Yesterday morning his rbc's/pcv was 33%, last night it was 27% and late this afternoon it was 20%. So he's at the ER where he can be monitored, and get a blood transfusion if necessary. That would be done when and if he gets down to 16%. They have all blood types there on hand, so they would be able to do it right away. When I picked him up from our vet, he was breathing a little hard, and when I went to say goodnight to him he was breathing really hard. So they are doing an xray to check his lungs just to make sure they aren't missing something, but they did say it could just be from the anemia.

I'm going to call in about an hour to check on him. Please keep the prayers and vines coming for my sweet little guy.

He does seem to be in pretty good spirits, in spite of all that's been happening to him.

OMG, I'm freaking out right now. ER doc just called. The xrays of his lungs are drastically different than they were on Sunday. He's either got pneumonia or all the fluids he's been getting are pushing him into CHF. All this on top of the anemia. He's in an oxygen tent, cause he can't get enough oxygen into his blood. She may be calling tonight and we may have to make a tough decision. She's afraid that if he gets to the point where he needs a blood transfusion, giving one will push him further into CHF. She's putting him on a broader spectrum AB in case it's pneumonia and putting him on lasix(?) which will make his kidneys work harder to pull fluid out of his lungs. But it sounds like she's not sure which one he has. Xrays will be reviewed by a radiologist, but not until tomorrow. I'm just devastated.

I'm so sorry to hear this! It sounds very scary. I really hope the a/b and the oxygen will help Kibby as soon as possible. Saying a prayer for you and Kibby. ((((Anne)))) I hate that you are going through all this.

OH Kibby, sweet one. Grabbing coffee and rosary. Will say the first one just for Kibby. Hugs to you, Anne. I'll be sticking you in Kibby's rosary also. Take good care of yourself.

Hope Kibby get better soon.
Please take care Anne, dont worry too much. Kibby will need your support & care.

((((Anne))) I am so sorry to hear that Kibby isn't doing well and getting worse. I hope that he starts to turn around with the changes in treatment, and that the radiologist looks at the X-rays right away when he comes in. Sending may prayers for you all, and you will be in our thoughts today. It's good to hear he's in good spirits - I hope that continued through the night. Lisa & Leo

(((((Anne))))) I haven't had to deal with the anemia but when my GA Sitka was 18, she had to have a dental and the fluids did the same thing to her....she had well controlled asthma. A day in oxygen with LASIK and she recovered remarkably and lived to be 21. Sending prayers for Kibby...he's young and strong.

Oh, poor Kibby....keeping you guys in my prayers and I hope that your little guy gets better. I know you are beside yourself. ((((Anne)))
