Good Morning LL! Tess is back in B mode today, which is good because i crashed early last night. We have an appointment w/ the vet at 11:30 this morning. I'm hoping that patch is just a delayed reaction to the flea meds.

WCR All 5 Ps, Clean Plate Club, and a happy purry kitty this morning. The bean brain continues to malfunction in these early hours so ,btb for me.

Re: 11/23 Tess AMPS~237

Good morning! Glad you got some rest last night! Tess wanted to give you a break, good girl! Good luck at the vet today. I hope it was just the flea meds. Sending healing vines that it is nothing and her fur grows back quick. Have a wonderful day Ann & John!

Re: 11/23 Tess AMPS~237

Hi guys .. sunny yellow for tess this morning .. I hope the vet visit goes well and that the missing fur is just a reaction like you said .. I won't be around for the Thanksgiving weekend, so have a great holiday!

Re: 11/23 Tess AMPS~237

Ahhhhh.... so Tess has decided that the yellow floor is the place to be. At least it is better than the floor Mannie chose. Tess, you better get the ropes ready - Mannie may need some help....

Good luck at the vet. I hope it is nothing serious.

I can so relate to the malfunctioning brain... enjoy that BTB. :-D

Re: 11/23 Tess AMPS~237 +4~207

We are off to the vet in a few minutes, paws crossed. So far she had been coming down, but that will probably change. I won't be back on until evening, ceramics class this afternoon. DH may post though.

Re: 11/23 Tess AMPS~237 +4~207 +6~174

Hi guys,
I missed most condos yesterday because of the trip home, so I missed all those good numbers!! Looks like a short bounce today. Interesting to hear about the hair loss, possibly from Frontline. If Rusty has any Frontline hair loss, it would be impossible to see in any event! I hope that the bumps are nothing to worry about and that the flea application was the cause of the hair loss. Will be looking for your update. In the meantime, the KTSS Spa Section is planning a visit to Tess tonight.

Hope you have a good class,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 11/23 Tess AMPS~237 +4~207 +6~174

Morning Ann, John, and the lovely Tess.

Way to clear a bounce!! I love how quickly she is clearing them lately!! I hope all is ok at the vetty and that it is just the flea treatment and nothing more. Gracie and Tobey are getting ready to bring over KTSS and get the vetty smell off her.

Glad you got some rest last night. Thanks for visiting us every day even though I've been out of it. I had to read back a couple days in condos to catch up!!!

I got the replacement box of monojects from the distributor and they sent me the EXACT same lot number and 4 out of 5 syringes have been off. So I called this morning, spoke with a supervisor, and she is sending me a case of syringes of a different lot number. She told me to call her immediately if they have the same problem. They are investigating the issue with the manufacturer. Will keep you posted.

Hey Tess.....we're on our way to help out with the vetty smell....maybe we can lay in the greenhouse in the sun after????

Re: 11/23 Tess AMPS~237 +4~207 +6~174 Back from Vet, to clas

Good luck to Tess at the Vetty and hope it was just a reaction to the flea meds. Enjoy your class.

Re: 11/23 Tess AMPS~237 +4~207 +6~174 Back from Vet, to clas

The vet thought that hair loss was just reaction to the Frontline. Tess did have a couple of flea bites though, so should probably try a different flea treatment. Also took in a urine sample and USG was 1.019, highest in a couple of years, so good result there. Vet says she looks healthy, and diet seems to be helping. Poor DH is on a flea hunt this afternoon. So is going through the house with tweezers, flashlight and tiny net to nab those critters. So far is going well. Tess is in the guest quarters till the hunt is over cat(2)_steam . Her +9 BG is 126. Well, back to it   ~ John

Hi Ann & John! I wish I'd have seen your condo yesterday with regard to the hair loss. Shnookie started having a reaction to Frontline several months ago. His hair would fall out and the skin underneath would get scabby. I asked the vet about it and they called Frontline CS, who did say it is sometimes a side effect. Shnookie is now 7 yrs old, and been on Frontline all his life with no problems until recently. I wonder if they changed the formula? Anyway, I switched him to Revolution, and the first month on that, he had the hair loss again, but no scabs or irritation of any kind on the skin. I decided we could live with that, but it only happened the first application. He's had it twice more since then and no reaction at all. So maybe try Revolution. It costs I think about $1 more per 3 month package, but it's well worth it.

Awwwww poor Tess and those flea bites! Leo had some flea bites this summer that he got from his "dog cousin" Daisy.....I feel for ya Tess, flea bites don't look fun at all. But on the other hand you're still gorgeous....flea bites and all! :-D Fantastic numbers today too.

Good luck with the flea hunt John, i hope you track them all down!

I've got your receipe for home made fuds from Tess' SS today and bought a scale....its FUDS-MAKIN time tomorrow! Wish us luck ;-)

Re: 11/23 Tess AMPS~237 PMPS~147

Alice (GA) had lots of fleas once. In fact, we discovered hundreds of flea eggs in our bed (didn't know what they were then!!). I spent the next 6 months vacuuming the whole house every day (never before; never since!). And poor Alice had to be "dipped". (All this was before products like Frontline). My niece once moved into an apartment where there were fleas and she wound up wearing flea collars on her ankles!

Happy Thanksgiving!!! Very glad that Tess got a good vet report.

Re: 11/23 Tess AMPS~237 PMPS~147

Good vet visit!! I know fleas really well, I used to groom dogs and believe me, they are nasty critters!!
We used to put some flea powder into the vacuum bag or right on the rug to kill the things!!
Hope you get rid of them & Tess will be all better! Hugs & Love frm us!

Re: 11/23 Tess AMPS~237 PMPS~147

What nice numbers this afternoon, despite the trip to the vet! :-D :-D And all was well there. She just made a face when I mentioned the raw diet.

Thanks everyone, if there are fleas it's just a few because we never see them when we comb. Frustrated that they seemed to be back in 2 weeks and i was worried about repeating the treatment that soon. The vet suggested switching medications around, Advantage - yes, Advantix- NO (it has pyrethrums), didn't mention Revolution. Also said that Frontline Plus can be reapplied at 3 weeks, good to know. Thank goodness no sign of fungus (ringworm!)!

Tess had similar hairloss before, but not so long after the treatment.

DH vacuumed thouroughly and sprayed everything down w/ Zodiac. We kept Tess in the guest room out in the garage until everything was dry.

time to start making PIES!!!

Re: 11/23 Tess AMPS~237 PMPS~147

Does Tess go outside? I have problems with 2 of mine getting bitten after the 2 week mark as well, and the vet told me that was due to the environment then. All those once a month flea treatments take 12 hrs to kill a flea once it gets on the animal. I bought some bug-killing fertilizer for my lawn, so my yard is safe, but unfortunately I can't do anything about the neighbors'. Good that you treated the house!

Nice pmps Tess!

Re: 11/23 Tess AMPS~237 PMPS~147 +4~119

If there's anything good about living in Idaho...it's the lack of them ugly lil biting machines!!

oh, and the potatoes are good, too.

glad she had a good vetty visit!

Re: 11/23 Tess AMPS~237 PMPS~147 +4~119

Yes! No ill effects from the vetty visit, I think Tess will be checking out the Lagoon later.

Anne, no Tess is indoor only. But we are out a lot and i suppose we could have brought something in.

Re: 11/23 Tess AMPS~237 PMPS~147 +4~119

Thanks for the info on the zicam...Mike just got the lozenges...whew!!!

Come on Tess.....meet us at the green lagoon..Rusty and me are waiting!!! No Fleas allowed!!! I heard your beans are taking your turkey!!!

Re: 11/23 Tess AMPS~237 PMPS~147 +4~119

I learn so much from visiting condos! I knew we had no fleas in AZ but I had no idea there were no fleas in Idaho, land of BIG batatas!

Some nice looking numbers there despite the vetty business. Hope the flea hunt was successful and the little buggers are mounted and hanging on the wall!

Re: 11/23 Tess AMPS~237 PMPS~147 +4~119 +7~82

Hi Ann,
A few months ago I found fleas on Maggie and was shocked as she's totally indoors, too! It was Memorial Day weekend and Vet's office closed, so I bought Advantage at Pet People, and Ive used it monthly on her thru the summer. Another neighbor had them on her Persian indoor kitty. I guess we bring them in on ourselves to them. Nice pm ccycle.
