She came upstairs last night and this morning (woke me up) for the first time in days! She even got under the covers with us last night. Much more her old self. Though quieter.
+9.5 295. She has such late nadirs, and combined with her free feeding, it's hard to tell if she is going up or down.

Hi Robin
I will be testing and posting in a few minutes. Help me with my education, if you will---can you explain to me what makes this a perfect day? I know that ideally a cat's BG should be between about 80 and 120. But what makes a curve a good one?

AMPS 331 .8 U
+4 242
+6.5 161
+9 189
PMPS 368

SO the PMPS is up 37 points. But she has been eating a lot in the past 2 hours. So I assume that accounts for some of the rise. Do I go up to .9? or a more aggressive 1U? I am inclined to be a chicken here.

Ok, she gently dropped to more than 50% at +6.5. She's slowely rising back up and hopefully won't get back to her AMPS. So you can adjust her dose and she can do it again next cycle and bring her down to acceptable bg numbers.

Does that make sense?

Adding, after seeing your post: Crap, I'm guessing that the higher PS is food spike, so if it were me I would stick with .8u or maybe 1u to push her a little lower.

Judy,
I havent followed Gators work with you, but I do know that 80-120 isn't really your goal (as it is not our goal either) because of complex medical issues. You dont know when she wont eat... and so you stay conservative.

so this was a good day, because she spent a lot of time in blue and yellow- so she got enough insulin to keep her cells fed.
It showed a nice smooth predictable u shaped curve, and the nadir was around 165. (fyi acros try to stay between 150-250) You could have safely gone lower, but she will thrive with 165.... she may not go OTJ, but the FD wont do her in anytime soon-- a good day. :-D

Thanks, Nancy. That is helpful to know. So anytime she is in the blues or yellows (or green, I assume) her cells are getting fed? Is there a general cutoff point at which the cells are not fed? (300?).
