Ugh. I'm so bad. Our absence, you wonder? Two words: Holiday Preparation. Rufus has been improving greatly with a dose increase to 1.50u, and we're seeing some much less worrisome numbers, thankfully. However, he is proving this morning that he still feels the need to pull a prank on me every once in a while.

The droopy numbers we got at +2 (115) were easily foreseeable in the +1 (150) reading, so I decided to Supersize Rufus' breakfast - but he wasn't interested all that much (only took a nibble). Wanting to head off any extreme sporting events (a la Diabetes), I mixed in a little plop of gravy with the leftovers and that piqued his interest. He finished most of what was left (and J-F ate the rest :-D - no food wasters in this house!)

Particularly interested in +3, but we'll keep an eye on him today to make sure he stays steady. Hopefully he won't be ringing my alarm bells all day. :mrgreen:

Well, after having been gone from these numbers for so long, it's kind of weird to see them again. Rufus is eating some more - after all, 77 is fine by me, but I can do without 40.

Going to get a +3.5 next.

oh rufus please surf in the 70s! Its such a great place to hang out .. no stress on the body, no eating gravy till you can't stand it .. no high numbers that make you potty a river .. just a nice place to hang out!!

+3.5 is 74! Yay! Maybe he will surf. Oh, it would be awesome if he'd just go right back into the pattern he had before he got sick! (No visiting the Gravy-yard until his meter starts threatening me with 40s).

On a completely unrelated note - what on earth is the weather doing being HOT here in late fall? (68° today).

I believe we have established a surf! Yay! Now that it's +4 (81), I think it's safe to say he'll be OK, but I'm going to resume hourly checks for now. He's been pretty irritable today (sleeping in his crate - of all places - and creeping upstairs for some quiet time). We'll see at +5 if that was a good idea.

87! We be surfin', alright! He's not acting like he's feeling awesomely good-in-the-green, but... he is a pretty cranky guy these days. Going to get our usual +7 next - the poor guy just sighed and kind of kitty-grumbled when I picked him up to test him just now. :lol: He's over it!

117. Looks like that dab of gravy in his LC this morning is still with Rufus! Well, 117 isn't anything to cry over. I'm really pleased with this half of the day so far, I hope his evening goes just as well. We'll get a +11 in order to prepare ourselves.
 
Well, there's some room for Rufus to come down with that 1.50u tonight. I don't plan on being hyper-vigilant tonight. (TIRED!) It's been a good day. If he has a repeat planned for tomorrow I think I'll skip the Gravy and let him do his own thing unless he shows me he needs it.

I'll get a Bedtime check tonight, but probably won't report. 'Gnight, everyone!
