Gracie is doing well this morning. She has been fixated on the pool guys since right after T/F/S. We are having all of the pool pump equipment switched out to a new, variable speed, super energy efficient pump and remote control for the pool, spa, etc. The guys came right after T/F/S and she can see them out our bedroom windows or the door in our room when they come around to the pool. They don't seem to bother her but she thinks they are very interesting and glad they are outside.

I have no clue what is going on with her numbers. We dropped a couple sups this week but she got into good numbers after they were dropped. No hint that there is anything wrong with her....all 5Ps in place and she looks wonderful; BEBT (bright eyed bushy tailed) as Pip used to say.

Last night I spent most of the evening researching EPI for Gracie's breeder whose kitty has been dealing with either it or IBD or something for some time. I think she is at her wit's end so I told her I'd do some hunting around for info and I got pretty tied up in all the articles. Meant to be on the board but I feel very bad for her and little Danny.

Today is a hectic day here...I've got the pool guys here all day long and company coming shortly for the day. I should be back around tonight, though. Have a great day.

Well, that is a most un-Gracielike bounce! Good luck on the research, I know how all engrossing that can become. Sending vines for your friend's little Danny.

Gracie! Goodness sakes, girl, bring those numbers down. Bouncing is such an undignified behavior. So unbecoming.

Thanks for the visits today Ann, Tricia, Marilyn, Liz, Carla, and Ella. Yeah...I don't know where that hard bounce came from but she had a slow slide today. Glad Mike will be home tonight.

Ella...EPI is exocrine pancreatic insufficiency and is a nasty bugger. It's malabsorption and kitties eat but can't gain weight because they can't absorb their food. They lack the necessary enzymes to help them with that. They have soft, stinky poos and just generally are not well. There is a test that is pretty reliable to dx EPI (Danny hasn't had the test) and if it is positive, the treatment is B12, pancreatic enzymes (Viokase or Pancrezyme), better diet (as in not dry), and possibly folate because some EPI cats have low folate levels. It cannot be cured; but treatment can be successful. Right now, they aren't sure if Danny has EPI (symptoms sound like it) or IBD or both....or occasional pancreatitis.

Pool/spa are perfecto!!! it's very cool now to have a remote control that we can turn the spa on from inside the house and it gets toasty warm and we just jump in!! Or we can set it to turn on at a certain time so if we go out, it's warm when we get home. SOOOOOO much better!!

I can just see it now...Gracie & Tobey getting the spa ready for a nice swim while you guys are away! ;-) Gracie is looking lovely tonight...I'm pretending that I didn't see this morning and afternoon because that is soooo unlike her!
