Good evening,

finally the new dose started working yesterday and we saw some late cycle blues and greens. I am sure all the good wishes and Wendys crystall ball helped. Thank you all for this great support!

Today she was in a heavy bounce and also tonight she is not really going down much.

I wonder if next time I should feed her more carbs to reduce the risk of such a big bounce? Last night I saw that she was not dropping too low but nicely surfed in good numbers so I just opened her favourite 10 % to keep it like that. But maybe I should have bumped her up a little, even though not being dangerously low? I feel two cycles and maybe more in red and black numbers on the libre (might be less drastic on the handheld) are quite a high price for a few hours of blue and green numbers. :bookworm:

Any ideas on that are highly appreciated!

Besides that we started the kefir trial for good gut health. First batch was ready today but it tasted like I soaked an old sock in milk for two days. Felt that neither Binie nor I deserve that and we are waiting for the second batch. Seems like the bakteria need to adjust to their new home.

Hope everyone has a great start in the weekend! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

this has been my constant whine, exactly. It’s felt like each bounce gets worse, his lows harder to pull him up and his highs even higher. I flinch when he starts into blue. So let me know what you figure out! Today out of desperation we’ve tried to hop off the roller coaster as it neared bottom, because I tried a cycle of feeding him more carbs to stay higher blue and it didn’t work for methos—but I hope it does for Binie! I hope her bounce is short and she glides down nicely—if anyone can figure out how to fix it it will be you!
:bighug::bighug::bighug: To you and Binie!

Hi Heike, the only thing I can say is that Ivy was the most bouncy cat up until a few months ago. So about 2 full years of extreme bouncing.
And suddenly she seemed to calm down with the bouncing. Just look at her spreadsheet.

So maybe it is true that each of them have to get to their own point where their body settles down (or not).

We just have to keep trying keep managing, keep at it day in and day out and hope that they do. I don’t know what else to do.:bookworm:

And sorry the keifer was so disgusting. Hopefully the second batch is better. I guess something like that project takes some practice to get it right. as you know, most things do. But you’re so determined and I know you’re gonna get it right and it will be a huge success:)
I hope she comes down again soon. Hopefully as time goes on, she will recover more and more quickly from the bounces.

Sending both of you hugs and hoping tomorrow is a smooth day:bighug::bighug::bighug:

We keep trying and keep trying. And you and Heike are both so incredible in your heroic efforts, Colleen.
Big hugs to you and Methos, too :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Heike.
Butch also is very bouncy and has been in a heavy bounce since his green a few cycles back. I am trying to figure it all out too :bookworm:
I hope Binie breaks her bounce very soon and slides down gently for you.
Sorry, to hear the first batch of kefir tasted so bad. Hopefully the second batch will be better.
Wishing you a great start to your weekend too. Safe surfing, Binie!

Hi Colleen, Binie is still bouncing. :( If I find the perfect fix, I let you know. :cat: Hope you have a quiet night with your boys. You all need rest! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you so much Staci! :bighug::bighug::bighug: Unfortunately she is still boucing. She drank lots of water today and was not in a good mood. I really hope this gets better one day. Ivys curves are so nice!

I feel she will come down tomorrow, while I install the new sensor. Not so ideal. And what makes things worse: Seems like I have to use the reader one more time. I spent the whole evening on the phone with my friend and we tried to install an older version of the operating system on the IPhone, which is approved by Abbott. Seems this is not possible and so I can't use the IPhone, even though the phone itself is approved. Very annoying. :( I thought this could give me more freedom to go out. Now I'll see if I can buy a used one with an operating system, which is approved. There is always something, right?

I hope you have a very relaxed and nice Saturday! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you so much Colleen! :bighug::bighug::bighug: So we are all in the same club with our bouncy boys and girls. :cat: I hope Butch comes down for you safely today! I think a yellow preshot is a good start!

Yes, the kefir was not great. The online-shop I bought it from wrote that this could happen because the grains get stressed during transport. We'll see how the next batch tomorrow tastes.

Hope you have a great Saturday! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Heike. Yes, and they are very bouncy!
Thank you. Butch broke his bounce today and slid into the blues with a +4 green :) It was so nice to see the blue and green with no big dives going to low.
Hoping tonight he stays steady in the blues. I shall see!

Is there any where local to buy the kefir?

Wishing you a nice night and safe surfing, Binie!

I am using an iPhone 8 and the operating system is currently 16.7.10 on Ivy’s phone.

How new is your iOS version??

I bought Ivy’s phone on eBay if that helps.

Hi Staci,

thank you very much! This is VERY helpful! I have an IPhone X and currently its has 16.2 but I can update on 16.7.10. But this one is not in the list, only 16.7.8. I read in the human forum that people have problems with 16.7.10. It losses connection. I can't read the list you postet clearly but I think it also says 16.7.8, right? I just want to make sure there is no difference between the European and the US version....

I wanted to scan in 5 minutes so your info came just in time....

@Staci & Ivy: I just decided to use the reader at least one more time. I feel it is too risky. They told me they will not send another one, if I have problems due to incompatibility.... I had this with the first sensor, but there the phone was not approved (Xiaomi). It worked for a week and then it was loosing connection. Thank you so much! I will check for one on Ebay....

This was the link but I’m sure it’s the US information. I would think you need to get the correct data for Germany since the Libre is from Germany(? Or is it an EU product?)
This is a close up of the screen shot.
I guess do more research so you can be ready for the next sensor you want to replace.
I’m sorry we weren’t ready for today! :banghead:

Hi Staci,

the European version I found is quite similar but different phones and operating systems are approved. The app in Europe and US is different. I think due to different laws. As you know, we can switch off the alarm completely.

I scanned the reader again. I am somehow not in the mood to take additional risks. So many things can go wrong anyway. I placed the sensor too close to her hip again. :( I don't know why I didn't manage. I think it will work but I will have many errors when she is sitting in certain positions. We will live with it... The last one worked perfectly fine, which was very relaxing.

My friend who gave Binie the iPhone is at home, being sick at the moment. She said she would be less bored if she could look for a used one for us. :) It just wonder how to find out which operating system they have. We'll see.

Hope you have a nice day and thank you so much for your support! :bighug::bighug::bighug:
