Good Morning!
We had a lovely night, I finally got all her meds into her last nite, that was my first run w/that, and then we have only one more pill to go this morning! Morning dosages are a little easier than evenings, as some are just once a day, which is evenings.
She ate pretty good last night but totally chowed down this morning! She has 3 bowls of food in front of her at the moment, Friskies wet liver & chicken, Meow Mix dry & s/o dry. I know, I know, on the dry, but right now it is more important that she eats and we deal w/her diabetes w/insulin than that she only gets the LC wet, which she is minimally interested in sniffing but not at all in munching. She is getting the dry she got at the clinic, and she loves it. She is still pretty skinny, so she needs the calories right now. Her discharge ppr show that her BGs ranged from 112 to 400 during hospitalization, more controlled in 250 range over the last few days of hospitalization.
Here is her list of meds:
2u BID Lantus
Baytril 68 mg tabs every 24 hrs
Metoclopramide syrup 1.2 mls 3 times/day
Zithromax Oral Susp 0.5 ml once/day
Metronidazole Tab 50mg 2 times/day
Denamarin Tab 1 daily
Doxycycline 100mg tabs 1/4 tab every 12 hrs (follow w/5mls water)
Actigall 50mg 1 capsule every 24 hrs
Mirtazapine tab 15 mg 1/4 tab every 3 days
Famotidine 10mg 1/4 tab 2 times/day
LVRC was very specific about chasing any pill, not just the doxy, w/5mls of water so that nothing gets stuck in her esophagus. And they prescribed the Denamarin too.
That has absolutely got to be the best veterinary clinic in the whole country.
So we are doing good and eating well (Tawny is anyway!) and altho she appears kind of weak still (wouldn't you be after 2 hospital stays in 2 wks?) and is too skinny she does not appear to be depressed any more, her eyes are bright, she is swishing that magnificent tail around and exploring the house, all good signs!
