Ah yes...once again Lupita Friday and Gracie granted Lupita all the "grace" she could last week when Lupita's dog, Cooper, crossed. I have to admit that Lupita's perfume was a little strong even for me today but the look on Gracie's face was exceptionally priceless hissssss!! Pita you STINK!!! You smell too sweeeett!! I know you're not that sweet!! hissssssssss And it wasn't just the expression, it was her actually pulling her head back away like peeeeeeyooooouuuuuuu!!! :lol: :lol: I can hear Lupita in there now talking to Gracie and Tobey in Spanish. I'm sure they look quite confused. Mike told her before to please not talk to them in Spanish....we don't need them ignoring us in TWO languages :lol: :lol:

Wow yesterday was a little too sunny on Gracie's SS but she, Tobes, and I got a really great night's sleep. Badly needed after the Wed night PJ party. Mike's schedule has changed this month and he's working Th-Sat so working all day Wed and then staying up Wed night was a little tough but I need to put on my big girl panties (Julie ;-) ;-) :-D :-D ) because many of you do it all the time. I guess the dose increase on her SS was enough to get her back to green this morning. yay...I hope this means back to daytime greens and maybe some blue at night? Maybe LBG?

Today has been one whole year since our Gussie crossed. For those of you who are new in the last year and didn't know Gus, he was an amazing kitty. He is Mike's kitty soulmate....Mike picked him out and they were tightly bonded all 17.5 years we were blessed to have him. Gussie was a pet therapist starting as a kitten and we made weekly visits to a local nursing home from then until he was 10 years old and started developing arthritis. He was greatly loved at the nursing home and he was phenomenal with the residents. He was the gentlest of souls; he loved everyone and when the doorbell rang, he'd always go to the door because he assumed everyone was coming to see him. They most likely were.....his fan club was huge. Gus never minded us bringing kittens in. After we got him, we also added Max, Gracie, and Tobey. While the other cats would tell the animal communicator they did not want another little being to disturb their space, Gussie always said "yes!! i love kittens!!" and he would let them climb on him, chew his tiny ears (Gracie), love them, and be a fantastic role model for them. He taught Gracie to use the scratching post and she's never laid a paw on any furniture to scratch. We think of him every single day. We've still not moved his favorite beds. We have so many wonderful memories of our Gentle Giant, our Ginger Kitten, our Guppits, our Mr. Inconsolable (when he wanted something and cried and we didn't get up right away, he'd put a "sigh" on the end of his meow....so hysterical). We love you our sweet, sweet boy and miss you so very much.

perhaps we should get Lupita a bottle of catnip oil to dab behind her ears. :lol:

It doesn't seem like a year. Gus must have had a great life with you and you with him. You know he's watching Gracie hiss at Lupita and shaking his head! Kids!

Beautiful cycle for Missy Gracie - in spite of the Lupita visit. It doesn't seem to affect her BG's much. :lol: Paws crossed you get a little break, maybe a blue one, tonight.

Marje, Gus was such a beautiful kitty, thank you for sharing that wonderful picture of him and I am so sorry for your loss. :YMHUG: :YMHUG: Also, please send poor Lupita our continuing hugs and condolences for the loss of her sweet Cooper, I am sure her family is still hurting over that loss as well!

Nice cycle for LBG- hope you have a more restful evening. Sorry to hear Mike's schedule changed....Was it Julie that started the "Put On Your big Girl Panties" thing? I thought I recall seeing Kath and Trey using that expression in her posts :-D , but what do I know!

Gus, you have lots of work to do at the Bridge, welcoming and helping the new GAs to feel at home. We all miss you here, but we know that you are well and happy and always watching over your family.

Hi Marje & Mike, we know how much you miss your wonderful old gentleman. We do too.

Gracie, surf safe! Tobey, get ready for some serious baking this coming week!

Aw, Gussie! We miss him so much. Don still hasn't recovered from the fact that you were never willing to send Gussie out for a "visit". I assure you, though, that if you had, I wouldn't have ever returned him.

Rhiannon: yes, it's been a year and we do miss him terribly. Oh boy do I wish I had a bottle of something else but heavy perfume for Lupita :lol: :lol: :lol: Normally she doesn't dab so much on!

donaleen: I know, my friend....and I'm so sorry Ozy isn't. It's so hard to not see their beautiful faces every day and feel their soft purrs and fur.

Ann: He probably is shaking his head at Gracie and thinking "that's not what I taught you" because Gussie...he didn't even know he had a hisser.

Wendy: Thank you....I'm so glad you all were fond of him. He was truly unique, special, inimitable. Well....we're still figuring out these carbs here and looks like, even though I backed off, I might have overdone it.

Paula: Thank you so much. He is very, very loved. We just can't see him....now.

Ruth: Thank you....he was absolutely breathtaking esp in his prime. I did let Lupita know everyone sent hugs and sympathy and she got many tears in her eyes. She has gotten back his ashes and paw print.

Ella: I'm sure he's up there helping Stu and Mannie in Two Chefs Kitchen. He's probably waiting tables just because he liked to visit with everyone. Tobey had me go to the store today and get a POUND of cimmamum. Yikes!!!!

Carl: Miss you. so much. Gracie understand where she is in your lineup of cutest kitties. She says she doesn't mind coming in an extremely close second to Gussie. She, of course, does not think that YOU might think Miss Polly might be the close second. ;-)

Mary: I know...I was always wondering when Don just might come down and get him. Good thing he has DK!!

I know you have written about Gus but didn't realize his loss was that recent. Hugs. He was a handsome guy. I hope Gracie cuts you some slack tonight and that the Soulistic is working. When I use the higher Hc ones I just put a small amount in the 4 or 9% if I think he might not need that high a carb food.

Elise: thank you; I need to do that, I think. I thought just using the Good Karma and never the Autumn Bounty would be ok; I've gotten it to work before. But today...ick. And thank you...he was such a great companion.

aw, what a wonderful tribute to Gus! I can't believe it's been a year - it doesn't seem like it. They always leave us too soon.

Ya killed me with those Big Girl Panties! :lol: I had to reread that condo and of course, I feel all those feelings all over again. What a roller coaster! I'm not sorry we did the SRT though, not for one moment.

Poor Lupita - i could practically smell her perfume today! :shock: :lol: i can only imagine how Gracie's extra-effective nose was offended by it! ;-) Lupita doesn't stand a chance. hahahahaha

Mr. Gus, you were such a sweetheart, such a lover boy. I will always cherish your sweet kisses. :-D :-D We all miss you. Big hugs to your beans on this sad day. Gracie, can't blame you on not liking Lupita's perfume but how about some blue and green to show your mama that you mean bidness? We are coming to Tucson on Dec 21 for a couple of days. Yes, "we" means me and Anne but not Tillie. :lol: I hope we can get together for a visit and maybe even a few skritches.

it wasn't a bad thing to feel. :thumbup quite the adventure!

i miss celi too. she fell off the face of the earth. I tried a couple of times to contact her - even went to snail mail, but she never responded. We used to talk online here and there. I've wondered so many times how she is. Celi had a wonderful sense of insight into people, you know?

Marje, WOW, cann not believe it has been a year since Gus crossed. I will never forget that day. It was my first experience on LL with a Kitty passing and I was blown away with the love, memories. Tributes, and support you received. What a special Boy he was and loved by so many. Also, I recall, been though you were going through all of this with Gus you were still here on LL giving advice and support to those of us who needed it!

What a great tribute to Gus. Lots of hugs Marje and Mike as you remember and honor your sweet Boy ! Gus, you will always be missed, loved, and in the hearts of many!

{{{Marje}}} I know you never stop missing him, and it's no wonder. What a special boy he was. Does it give you comfort to watch the sub-q video, or does it hurt too much? I fell in love with him the first time I watched it.

I remember that condo! Well, I actually remember the panties! How could one forget those!?

I'm sorry Gracie and Lupita had another bad encounter, but I'm glad Lupita is doing better. Sending more hugs to her. So sad about her doggie.

Miss Gracie, time to come down again, dear. Just not as far as this morning, okay? Some gentle low blues would be perfectly fine.

I haven't been able to watch the subq video since he crossed. I have watched some short video clips we have of him. It's like he's here again.....comforting but also very sad.
