YAY!!! Overnight, Morris ate 3/4 of his food!!!! After testing, when I brought his breakfast in, he jumped right down & started eating all ready again!!!!

He did pee quite a bit more overnight than he has been since surgery, but I still haven't discovered any poop in the LB since the surgery - should I be concerned? Or just hope that now he is eating more, the poop will come eventually? I have noticed him go to the LB a few times thinking he was going to do something, but then he didn't do anything since the surgery - I hadn't notice him do this before the surgery.

The other 3 P's seem to be working fine though :-D

Maybe, he's just still filling his empty tummy up, now, and the poop will happen, later.

I think it's pretty normal after surgery for a poop to come, especially if he hasn't been eating well. I would call the vet and ask them, but I call and ask my vet about everything :lol:

Thanks for the LB input. Our vet office is closed today - if nothing happens by tomorrow, then I will call and ask them what they think.

He has eaten a bit more food now. He has now eaten a little less than 1/2 of his food for today. I also just tested his urine again - still negative for ketones.

How long should I continue the daily ketone testing? Just until he is back to his usual eating & LB routine?

YAY! Mr Morris finally pooped! I knew if we started talking about it, it would work itself out! It wasn't alot & it was kind of soft, but it still counts! He has finally eaten a smidgeon more - he has now eaten 1/2 of the food I put out for him this morning.

Well, he only ate 1/2 his food today. But when I put his dinner dish down, he ran right over & started eating again! I think his systems are finally beginning to return back to normal! I am still giving bupe twice per day & ab's twice per day. The ab's are supposed to carry on for about 10-14 days post-op. I think I will give him bupe again tomorrow, & then stop it.
