All is well in CurryLand.

I'm so glad I didn't do the bathtub renovation that was previously planned for this past week. That would have meant moving my kitties to another apartment for a day or two....And we know how much kitties like change....well at least my kitties. That's probably the smartest decision I've made in a long time. It probably would have taken them 2 weeks or more to get back to normal. Whew. So glad I made that decision.

So all is well. And its Saturday. Yeah.

Yeah, with your kitties (especially Sidney) taking so long to settle, I would put that project off for awhile, if you can.

Nice amps Curry and like the pic of Sidney :mrgreen:she kinda looks like my aunts cat but with longer hair is she a dilute calico Tena? Thats kinda what her colors look like from what I can tell in the cube ;-)

Dilute calico tortie she is......I just luv her coat....it is soooooooo soft. I named her after watching the Goodwill Games that were in Sydney Australia...after 9/11. What I love about her when I got her at the adoption agency was the fact that she she seemed very nurturing....there was another kitty in the cage w/her who was very distressed....and Sidney was there trying to comfort her....She will also coming running to Curry when I accidently step on Curry's paws cuz she underneath my feet all the time. She is very sweet and very skiddish.

They don't much like change, do they? Sid especially. I have a skiddish one, I always thought it was because his parents were feral. Curry and Shadow have run very similar numbers since we came here except right now Curry is doing those drops at onset, which seems to be +2 for her now. Looking at your SS, I can see you have been keeping a close eye on that. These little monsters, just when we think we've got them figured out, they change on us. It has taken SHadow quite a while to get back to surfing the 60's since her last shave. I'm not going to do that again for a while.

Are you expecting cold weather Tena? It is supposed to change drastically here by Thanksgiving.

Yes.....Shadow and Curry have been going down a similar path here.

So she finally decided not to dive at +2....Whew.....I was getting tired of that occurring this past week.

The cold front is suppose to hit Wed next week...rain and such....then T-day is suppose to be very nice. Either way....4 days off in a row next week will be delightful rain or shine.

Kim....yes, hanging in Houston. Have a brother, sister and 2 nieces. Lot of potential family action...... :lol: :lol: :lol: Could be good or bad. :mrgreen:

Claudia.....similar amps but you situation was much more stressful since you were trying to figure out what to shoot since you weren't gonna be around to monitor. My tummy was in knots for ya.

Yeah.....slow, declining numbers vs the dramatic dives she has been taking this week. Bean gets a reprieve.

6th cycle of this dose. libby and laurie were right. curry needed to find her rhythm w/this new dose after the events of this week.

Great numbers again for Curry and LOVE the photo of Sidney....and I've always loved that name, too!!! She looks like a Sidney.

There's those nice green preshots! Beautiful...I bet it won't be long now. You're doing great, Tena, Curry is in good hands. I know the lows/dives are stressful, but you are managing them very well.

I'm so glad you put off the bathtub renovation, Tena. I remember what a tough transition it was for both of your kitties when you moved. Sidney is gorgeous!

Tena - I am not very strict on Shadow's food. Today I have done every other hour, more or less, and just a small dab in her bowl, a scant tsp. and when I say tsp, it might be a slightly rounded tsp - measuring spoon sort of tsp. Just enough to get her lips smacking. Shadow is slowly losing weight and every bite she eats that is not calorie-laden dry food is OK with me.

I hope these food questions are not because you are second-guessing yourself - what you are doing with Curry is working in spades. I know you had this whole time-frame in your mind, her numbers are so good, she might not come around as soon as you would like her too, but I have no doubt that she'll get there. Look how far she has come since July.

Shadow is very elderly and really, my goal for her is not OTJ. I think of Savannah doing it in 4 years, Shadow would be 20 in four years. Regulation is enough for me. I want her to live out her remaining days in comfort and as much health as I can push her towards. :lol: If Shadow was younger, maybe I'd be more aggressive with her, who knows?

I am not able to feed Shadow like this during the week because of work but I think it is really good for her to eat like this so when I have a weekend at home, it's what we do. If she could figure out the automat, we could do this during the week but ...

what's that expression? wish in one hand....

Hey Kim...thanks for the info.

What I was curious about related to Curry's +4-65 to +8-104 difference today and then her pmps was back down to 84. Gave her a snack at +8.

I was thinking about taking 1/2 of her +8 snack and give 1/2 at +5 and other 1/2 at +8. Was going to see if it helped her to surf a little more rather than jump 40 points. I was also trying to figure out how to do smaller meals....she initially needed most of her meals eaten by +2.5 since she would drop so quickly. Now with a little less insulin I was wondering if I could start to spread out her meals a bit more. We are still doing intensive feeder training....she will sometimes come to it when she hears it and other times she'll just come to me.

I know Libby mentions smaller meals alot for our kitties.....I figured if Curry is on less insulin now...then her Mr. P is probably having to work a little harder and I was trying to make it a bit easier on "him". (and why is the pancreas been deemed male???)

She seems more hungry lately. She hasn't loss or gained weight lately.....so the amt of food I'm giving her overall is good.
