Yesterday. Caber Yr 2 Day 46. Construction Day 12. The Floor

She is holding the blues. Maybe Sunday I will push her a bit to get into the greens.

The floor is going on as I type here. All this time I thought it was the wall to wall carpet previous owners put in that I was smelling. Or the cats were stinky, food and liquids dropped or spilled over the 50 years. There were times odor was pretty strong. Under the carpet the subfloor is pressboard. When they sanded a few spots that buckled, it was the smell. Installers said the pressboard is the worst stuff and don't know why it was ever used. My guess is because it was the cheap option.

So I'm in the computer room doing my paperwork, staying out of the way.

Paula - still grinning over how amazing your upgrades are going to be. Ollie wants to make sure she is in some of your pictures when done. Well, I for one want to see her posing in her new kitchen:cat: Hope it's a good day for you and your kitties:)

Guess construction doesn't upset her. Thought I had everything planned and food easily available just in case. But I've had to move her to other rooms as they progress and now trying to get everything in same spot.

I KNOW she heard you typing out those words - a possible increase! I was thinking the same this morning...just toying with the idea but I'm reluctant due to Luci's cast - and thinking of going to the local farmer's market - Luci was listening in on the whole thing! And decided to go visit the sharks! It looks like she and Ollie were plotting to 'rule the day' as it were!

I'm so glad they got to the bottom of that funky smell! And hopefully will replace that sub-flooring with something better. Isn't construction grand! It always goes like that! They found a leak in our wall when they renovated this condo. If I hadn't requested that they rip out all the old tile they never would have found it...The guy who did the renovation said he'd been in here for that leak before - thought it was the window - when in fact it was the water line leading to the icemaker in the refrigerator - and it had a slow leak...just enough to run UNDER the tiles and down into the next room...underneath a window...hence the relationship to the potentially leaky window...oh well...just gotta roll with it. I'm sure the results will be stellar...and no more funky smell! YEAH!

Can't wait to see the pics! So exciting!!!

Haaa! I was thinking the same thing!! Ollie suddenly took a liking to this dose!! she smartened up right quick!

I am also majorly looking forward to the pics of the new update. I'm sorry, but privacy isn't an option on this one... we all MUST SEEEEE!!!

She's definitely reading everything you type Paula! :joyful:
Good girl Ollie, for being green and for being so chill around the construction!! :D:kiss:
