Thank you all so much for all the healing vines, cooling vines, and snowflakes for our little Tobey man.
I took him back to the vetty today and his temp was still up...104 (but that might have also been a little stress from ride, etc). She was amazed that he has been eating so well anti-jinx. This morning, he snuggled with me and was actually playing a bit and doing his normal circuit of the house to make sure everything was as it should be. He also did his normal routine of breffis #1 and then out to the enclosed patio to sit on the condo and on the way, snuck in a meow and swipe at big brother Gus..also normal action for him
His bloodwork shows elevated WBCs, normal kidney/liver/globulin values. Negative on FeLv/FIV (third time tested). FeCV results not back yet but he has also previously been tested for that and was in the normal range of less than 1:400. Vet expects we may see a change to that considering this URI. He is a little stuffy in the nose but only has a tiny bit of eye drainage. He is on Clavamox for any secondary bacterial infection and the nutrition vet put him on calcium lactate for fever and cyruta plus for immune system (anti-viral). She said we should see some difference in lower temps within 24 hours. He ate well again when I got him home and then took a bath and slept in the midst of his toys. He woke up a little bit ago, Mike fed him and gave him more chicken broth and meds; he bathed, and is napping again. Vet felt as long as he is eating/drinking, we don't need to do squids and I don't need to continue to try and cool him down with wet towels and alcohol pads to his ears and toe pads. He's happy about that. He loves the KTS chicken soup and the spa treatment from Tess. Gracie appreciates Tess's thoughtfulness of bringing a scent that Grace likes for Tobey's spa treatment (she actually hissed at him earlier after taking a sniff!!). Thank you, ever thoughtful Tess!
Please continue to keep him in your thoughts for healing and cooling vines until his temp comes back down. We are still very worried...he's just a baby.
You all are the most wonderful, heart-felt, compassionate people we've had the honor to know. Thank you.
