Yesterday, boring blue and yellow, earning today's dosecrease.

11/1 Recap:
AMPS 223 +7 262
PMPS 174 +4 224

Not sure why, but Neko seems to be needing increasing amounts of juice. Mommabean is worrying and thinking the worst again. While I appreciate the sleep, I'd rather she be in nicer numbers. To confound me more, Neko seems otherwise fine. The rain outside means the indoor beds are the favourites now.

In addition to changing PS time, the change to standard times means a lot of other changes going on. I have to reset the clock on the BG meter, change Otto's time of day and feeding times and worst of all, I have to endure the constant whining from the furry ones. They just don't get why meals are later. I moved it back all of 20 minutes this morning. The whining and whacking and hissing was coming fast and furious before the morning alarm went off.

Late post again - the beans were out on the water. Thankfully the real rain held off until afterwards. Last row of the season. It was a good one for me and I'm tired after doing 3 days in a row of 12+ km. DH was coaching today so he didn't get to row, but when he was following us in the coach boat behind a couple of small islands, an otter start following and surfing his wake. Unfortunately, I didn't see it.

I hope everyone is having a calm and peaceful Sunday. Vines to any in need.

Re: 11/2 Neko AMPS 218

Wendy, I am so sorry you are having to up the juice for no apparent reason, I fully understand now what a worry that is!! But glad to hear Neko looks and feels good otherwise, aside from being starved by her bean ;-) Not a big fan of DST myself, why we still have to adhere to this is beyond me!

Also sorry to hear this was your last row of the season- I can hear the sadness in your words! I think that is why DH (and even me for 10 years) chose tennis-(I hate winter) it's all year round, and indoors. But I know and understand- the heart wants what it wants!! :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Re: 11/2 Neko AMPS 218

Skooter has also let his displeasure in the change of his feeding time while I was doing the change to account for DST. I also didn't think about changing the time on the BG meter until I took his BG and was like, this is off!

Sorry to hear Neko needing a dosecrease....so frustrating when they seem to be doing well otherwise....

Sending vines that Neko does well on this dose and gets those numbers in the low pretty blues and some pretty pretty greens!

Hi Wendy

I hope Neko sees better numbers soon.

This isn't my favourite time of the year. Although I have never tried rowing I enjoy being outside and do alot of Nordic walking, however I am a wuss and hate walking in the rain and cold so only do it 9months of the year. Do you switch to something else when you can't row?

Best wishes

Sarah

Sorry Neko's not giving you better numbers. I hope the dosecrease helps. How cool on the otter.

Dosecrease threat, Neko, the bean is serious. Very cool about the otter. :-D :-D Good question about what replaces rowing. Skiing?

Neko....I hear a dosecrease coming. You know, that threat! C'mon girl. How 'bout some nice numbers for your bean.

I love otters. Silly little back floating clowns.

Still yellow. :YMSIGH: Maybe some NDW? Time will tell. Lots of complaints that +9 snack was later. I think I'll have to hide in a different part of the house before PMPS time. DH says he's going down to his workshop then.

@Ruth, Sara, Carla, Molly, Liz - Neko's been on 1-1.5U for a year and a half and now we are up to 2.25U. If Neko was just a regular diabetic I wouldn't worry so much about dose increases. But if it's the acro tumor doing it's thing, that also means more growth hormone secreted and the evil that can do to her body. Plus it's a gloomy rainy day and dark early. November = the month that gets the most rain in Vancouver. I've heard it can get as much as the other months combined. Ugh! We are still trying to figure out what the off season exercise is. We've done the gym before but that gets boring fast. Last year we started up cross country skiing but snow came late so we got out 3 times before rowing season started again. I'll do some hiking locally but it's not the same workout.

Hi Wendy ~O) :-D

I can so remember those whines when the time changed. BJ and Mannie were awful, one would think they were being starved. Now the current troops, Elsa, Lola and Bug did not utter one meow this morning. Weird! I am so used to bellowing kitties. It must have been all that rain... they were too busy sleeping and cuddling to notice that their tummy alrams were going off.

Bummer on the last row of the season, but it does sound like it was a good one. I wish you luck in finding a winter activity...

Have a great evening. stay dry!
