Sorry I havent been on but been at the hospital a good bit with my Mom. She had a pacemaker put in yesterday (late in the afternoon but was supposed to be that morning, lonnng day). She is feeling better but she has a kidney stone blocking her stoma port (she had bladder cancer a year ago and had her bladder removed and now has a stoma for a bag). So now they have to get that out hopefully on Monday. She is feeling better as her BP has come down and has a little more energy. I hate she has to go through all this. She has really gone down hill in the past 2 years and in is on 10-12 different meds a day. I just hope this gives her more energy.

Doogle has been doing great till last night. I went to bed early because I was so exhausted from the past few days. So I wasnt up to help give the shot. Well I do get up to check him at +2 and he was 429! I actually had two other higher numbers and thought they were a mistake (one was 559 and the other was 500). So I am gathering he gave him a fur shot. He was delayed last night due to his numbers going down at PMPS but he was only delayed an hour and fifteen minutes, so not enough to do that to his numbers. Needless to say I was not a happy momma. But he has recovered pretty well today. I guess the DH couldnt tell he got all of it.
Grandkids has a great Halloween and I did a pretty good job doing makeup for them (the oldest 5 was a zombie and the youngest 3 was a vampire). Not east to put actual makeup on small kids but the oldest was pretty good. The youngest didnt want me to put any red on him and wanted purple (I guess because his Grandy has purple hair). All in all they had fun even though it rained.

Now to eat some dinner and relax for once this week.

Sorry to hear about your mom, Donna, but boy can I relate! My mom's on 23 medications now (and that's one of the biggest reasons I don't like the idea of her going home to live alone instead of staying in the Assisted Living Center). It's hard enough for the professionals to make sure she gets them all...I know she's not capable of doing it alone.

She's having a cardiac cath on the 12th if I can't get her in any sooner. Her cardiologist took one look at her legs(they're VERY swollen) and ordered several tests, even though most of them were done within the last 6 months and came back normal. He kept shaking his head and saying "I MUST be missing something!!" Makes me even less happy about letting her go home alone, but she did agree to stay where she's at until the 15th. We'll just have to see how she's doing then and make the decision on if she can go home. She really wants to go home and I hate knowing how much she does when it's really not safe for her anymore.

I think the high numbers are probably mostly a bounce off the lows during yesterday's AM cycle more than a furshot, although both could be possible. I know I don't have ANY trouble knowing if I give one because that smell is just awful!!

Hope Doogle comes on back down quickly and that everything settles down for you and your family. You have my prayers

Thanks Chris! Its been hard to see my Mom go down hill in the past couple of years. She is the rock of the family. My Dad is not the best in the world about handling being alone but he has been pretty good taking care of things since her cancer.

The numbers could have been a bounce but he hasnt gotten that high on a bounce in a long time (especially since getting his teeth cleaned). The DH doesnt have the best sense of smell so he never noticed the smell of Lantus (even when he pushes it out).

Hopefully he will get back to good numbers soon.

Well at least Doogle seems better than last night. I really hate time changes, it always starts a debate in the house with shot times.

Sometimes it's better to have others to discuss it with.

I've been arguing with myself all day about what time it'll be tomorrow :lol: :lol:
