Happy Caturday LL! All good here. Sure am glad to see a weekend followed by a short work week. Zener is starting at a nicer number this morning and seeing some action at +1 so I gave him some higher carbs. He's being my office assistant but just moved from the filing cabinet to the chair to finish his preening. I think he got a little poo on his paddy paws this morning. Oops. Thinking of ailing beans and kitties and droolers, especially Jill and DH, Charlie, Comet, Tawny, Morgaine, and others.

Not a bad start for Zener. Looks like he is wanting some extra attention today. :-D So nice to have an office assistant. Mine always sleeps on the job. :lol: Have a wonderful day! Yay for a short week!

Way to clear that bounce Zener! Poopy paws happen sometimes :roll: :lol: Zener also works as an office assitant? What is the pay for his hard work? :lol: I read in the paper the other day that Britain's home to the prime minister has a "mouser-in-chief" named Larry the Tabby who is on the payroll and earns $160 pounds a year and all the mice he can eat..... :lol: :lol: I had to giggle at that one.

Other bean, Anne, in the condo now. Liz is off morning duty and walked to the gym, with massage later, well deserved! :-D

@Melissa - Zener sleeps on the job too, just lightly snoozing while maintaining his managerial duties! :lol:

@Linda - Zener could be planning an interesting day and weekend for us. He's been on the s1.0 dose for two days now, so maybe it is starting to act? He usually plans his big action for our busiest work days, so this could be a new trend. ;-)

@Tracy - we better not let Zener read his condo today, or he'll start wanting his allowance in British pounds. :lol: He's already subservient to our civvie Tillie, QOE, otherwise known as the Queen of Everything!

May have been a better option to have decreased carbs a little at +3, but any data is good data!

We are trying to sort flattening Mr Bouncy with food and find the right dose of insulin to keep him in better numbers, but this is especially for Zener and not what is typically recommended. The big guy is not very carb sensitive, thus the 17%. The lowest carbs Zener will consistently eat is 8% and that is only a recent decrease from 11%. It has been a challenge to go from dry kibble to wet food to lower carb wet food with his appetite issues, but we are making some progress. :razz:

Hi Anne and Zener, the lil Office Assistant who is working with no pay! :lol: That's some nice blues there on the end. Mags is the opposite of Zener and very carb sensitive. Hope you're enjoying the weekend.

Well poop, just as I was about to shoot, Zener flopped over on his side and dislodged the needle, I saw insulin squirt out. I'm pretty sure I missed the whole thing, but know not to shoot again. I am so mad at myself! We had such a nice flat cycle today. Grrr.

PMPS 339, 6th cycle @s1.0u - and pretty certain he got none - 1.0u 8%

Will get a couple of early tests but I'm pretty sure he didn't get any insulin tonight, so not likely to need the HC good fuds or much testing. He'll get a poke break.

We were considering a dosecrease tomorrow up to 1u based on how his numbers looked tonight, since this is his 6th cycle at this dose and he was flattening out. Who knows what will happen with his numbers tonight, other than going up, up, up. Any advice on dose for tomorrow is welcome.

I feel crummy, we were making some progress... :cry:

Don't beat yourself up over the fur shot. It's just one shot among hundreds. You'll get him back on track in no time. What a lovely cycle he had today! Just enjoy thinking about the day cycle and forget tonight :cool:

About dose, today was a nice cycle and I would be inclined to give him another day or two on this dose to see what happens. Preshots are still a little high, but his nadirs are coming down nicely.

Sorry to hear about the fur shot, but you have to be philosophical about it: Murphy's Law is at work! New day tomorrow and Zener will get back to another really nice cycle soon.

Thanks for that Libby, it is only the 2nd time I've had this happen in 9 months, so I guess that's a pretty good record - probably why it seems more awful too! :oops:

Thank you for that insight. Liz and I were discussing our plan (like we ever really get to do what we plan ;-) ) and she was leaning toward another day or two at this dose, and I was leaning toward increasing tomorrow (before the fur shot). Your input really helps us make a decision and we will wait another day or two to see if this dose will work it for Zener.

I am trying to look at the positive and appreciate the good cycle this morning, a poke break for the big guy and a full night's sleep for beans.

Anne - What a beautiful flat cycle today! So sorry on the fur shot!! Tomorrow is another day. No worries. I need to look over the info Liz sent me on what you are doing to try and eliminate the huge bounces and work on that this week. It looks like it is really working for you.

Hope Liz enjoyed her time away and Zener got a lot done at the office. :lol: Short week next week as well. Yay! Actually I am home all week. Have a wonderful night you four!

Hi Melissa - thanks for your encouragement, tomorrow IS another day, and I'll never be hungry again (sorry, couldn't resist channeling my inner Scarlett) Totally off topic - Liz has a red Honda fit we named Scarlett O'Honda! :lol:

Liz had a nice massage and a good workout. I even made it to the gym in the afternoon. The kitties made it into the backyard for their exercise, but no raccoon or skunk chasing today. ;-)

We're staying with the feeding times we are using for our experiment for flattening Zener's cycles, but he won't be getting any of the good fuds tonight.

He is eating well and feeling good. Today was weight day and Zener maintained his weight at 12lbs! First time he hasn't lost weight in a couple of months. :razz:
