Simon has been doing pretty well lately. My DH and I finally went away for 2 days for our 20th anniversary. I was such a nervous wreck since we haven't been anywhere together in over a year due to our kitties. My co-worker who is a nurse came 1x/day to test Simon and give him his insulin. She couldn't come 2x so unfortunately, Simon only got 1 shot a day. He did go up into the 300's the day before we came back, but numbers are slowly coming back down again. My co-worker was amazed at how well trained Simon is with his testing. She said that he greeted her at the top of the stairs and then went immediately into his "testing room" and lay down on his blanket so she could test bg. She was also able to give Cleo her ondansetron pill without a problem. Yay for nurses!! My DM also stayed at our house overnight to make sure both cats got all their good fuds.
