As advised (thanks again) went up to .75u this a.m after 3 days of flat mid-yellows. Hoping to see at least some blue soon.
This is the fourth time around for Simon :shock:

Hi Bruce and Simon,

Just stopping in because we haven't met before. I hope this is a very temporary thing for Simon again. He is such a handsome kitty in his profile pic. I did notice that you are using the Freestyle Lite meter. Is that the one with the butterfly strips? I was using those originally as well, but they tend to read lower and flatter for cats in the higher numbers. Take a look at Neko's SS for the first few weeks before I switched. Anyway, if you are using that meter/strip combo, you might want to try a different meter to verify Simon's BG. After I switched, I did a test where my Freestyle Lite read a 16.2 and the new meter did a 24.6 on the same drop of blood! Quite the difference. I now use a Relion Confirm and Bayer Contour as backup and they are relatively close.

Re: 11/18 SimonB AMPS 255 +4 243 PMPS 230

Hi there Wendy & Neko

Thanks for your reply. After reading it (and the thread on FS Lite) I did his PMPS;
230 on the FS, 284 on my One Touch Ultra. Not ideal but the ease of use of the FS
(tiny blood drop) is a real factor., Simon's not a great bleeder.

I'm wondering if they don't like over 300, but are reasonably accurate in lower ranges?

Obviously I don't want to use a grossly inaccurate meter, but if accuracy is decent in lower #s I'd stick with it, as
I'd treat Simon with flat yellows the same way as flat pinks - get em blue/green as quickly and safely as possible.

Again, thanks for bringing this to my attention!
