G'mornin' back at you, Kim and Gus. I'm having a hard time pulling up your spreadsheet. Probably my computer but I hope your Gus slides down into some nice blues today!

Thanks Summer! Just did a +3 205… probably the closest we will get today, I might see what’s happening at +5, to see if he dips his toes into the blue. Tomorrow’s a curve day and I’d like keep pokes light today but I want to if he goes any lower before he bounces (hopefully no bounce!).

I just tried the link and worked for me but please let me know if you’re still having any issues.

I tried it shortly after Summer did and it worked for me. Hoping for some blues today but not too low to provoke a bounce to mess up the curve numbers.
 
But still below renal threshold unless meter variance figures in and he is actually higher than recorded. I am always happy to find Bama in the low yellows since it is better than pink, red or black which is where he has spent a lot of his time.
 
Hi Kim. The spreadsheet came up just fine this time. I have a lot of problems with my computer. As Bama Kitty can attest to - I am not too technically minded. :smuggrin: Gus did almost touch his toe into the blues. Good to see. Good luck with this journey, Kim. Gus looks like a tuxedo. My favorite cats!

Gus is a tuxedo kitty, he can be such a gentleman when he’s not being goofball. Always laying down with his paws crossed and chest out.

Your Susie was a beautiful girl! Whiskers for days! I just love her moustache! I’m so very sorry for your loss :bighug: <3

When I decided I was going to adopt my first cat (Gus) I was on the look out for an orange tabby… I had a few as a kid and just loved their personality. My friend was working at a pet store at the time and was like Kimmmm, there’s this kitty who’s brother was just adopted and he’s all alone now, come meet him. I was sure I still wanted a orange tabby… but man when I got there, I couldn’t put him down, let alone back in the cage… and so an adoption was made - I’m quite partial to tuxes now because of him … I have 2, although my girl, Ruby, was taken in when my old roommates new girlfriend, now wife didn’t want her. She’s a old grumpy sweetheart and can be a B with and Itch to almost everyone else.

Orange tabby's are great too. Honestly, any color kitty can be such a welcome friend into my household. I bonded with the blacks as well. So sad to hear so many people will not adopt black cats because of superstition. My Simon, before Susie, was just a big, old, love bug. I miss him too. He was diagnosed with CKD and really went downhill quickly. Both Susie and Simon were 7 when I rescued/adopted them. I feel strongly about adopting older cats but after Simon (CKD) and Susie (diabetes, IBD, Lymphoma) I just decided to go a little younger. I want more years this time with my Boo. He is only 4 and has brought so much to my life and helped me heal a little from my loss of Susie. By the way, I love the orange cats as well. I had one named Sam many years ago and he was such a sweet kitty. Here is a picture of my Boo. Almost a twin to my Susie.

Oh my gosh! Where are you finding the moustache cats!! Boo is so sweet, I love him! So happy he’s helping with your healing, they really do make things a little easier some days!

100% agree, I love all the kittays! And I admire you and that you adopt older cats! I used to work at that pet store I mentioned above as well and I always had extra love for the older and seniors that came in to be adopted, most stayed with us much longer than kittens, despite being so sweet and extra loving.

Gus being my first, I wanted the whole experience but I would definitely look into adopting older with my next cat. I’ve actually been thinking of finding a friend for Gus around his age (8) since he and Ruby don’t get along very well - they co-exist for the most part - but I’ll wait and figure out his diabetes before I go that route. I think he’d love a friend though, he’s always trying to play with Ruby but she ain’t having any of it.
 
I'm sorry Ruby doesn't want to have anything to do with Gus. My Boo has had to get used to my two, 70 lb. dogs. He did well with Molly Pop who grew up with cats and is just a gently, sweet, 12 1/2 year old golden retriever. Boo and Kali (foxhound) have had a harder time but Boo stands his ground. It amazes me. Boo was a rescue. Found in a salvage yard as a stray and taken in by a foster Mom who had 7 other cats in an 800 s/f home. Maybe that is why he is so tough. I think Susie brought me to Boo after her death. I love the little mustaches, too. Hang in with the diabetes. Post every day and ask for help if you are concerned. Looks like Gus might need a slight increase but I cannot advise. Seek help when you need it. Good night, Kim.

Aww, good rescue on Boo! If I had a million dollars I’d love to open a sanctuary for all the kittys that need homes, some of their living situations is so sad. Guess I need to buy a lottery ticket…

Ruby wasn’t socialized well as a kitten (she was 6 when she moved in with my roommate at the time). He had an overnight job and she didn’t see many people for most of her kittenhood. He also got her at a very young age of 6weeks.

It took her 6months to finally warm up to me, and oh did I ever try, little by little. I won her over when I bought her first brush! Then I brought Gus home, and we had to do that all over again…lol.

I often say Gus is part dog ( and part chicken… some cat ;) ) he gives me that bit of puppy I want in my life but my pre covid lifestyle couldn’t allow for.

I suspect he’ll need an increase tomorrow evening after our curve too.

I think you’re right. I have a curve scheduled for tomorrow AM as well. And plan on increasing .25u on his evening dose if his numbers tell me so and of course with the help and guidance of our experts :)
