WCR: All Ps in place. Got TONS of snuggles this morning in bed...every time I went back to bed. Actually, I got a few kitty nibbles (bites) while I was trying to go back to bed. We've snuggled and loved on each other all day, but now she's being very distant and grumpy. She's also been very wobbly lately. For example, she just stood up and almost fell over...mostly seeing it in her back legs. She gets Zobaline once a day. Is there anything else I should be doing? Giving her?

Well I don't know about her back legs. If you aren't giving her the maximum dose for her weight (of the zobaline), you could try and increase it. You are already giving potassium. She could have arthritis. It could be associated with CKD...not just low potassium but also high phosphorus or anemia. It's likely that it is her diabetes ...I know she freaks at the vet but I would definitely consult the vet.

Thank you, Marje. I don't notice her wobbling every time she stands or walks about, but you're right, I need to get in touch with our vet. I'm hoping to get more blood work done soon. Too bad I can't get enough blood from her ear for blood work! (wishful thinking)

As for her supplements, she gets 1 capsule Zobaline per day, 1 capsule Cosequin per day, and I've been leery on the Potassium lately, but will start her back on 1/4 tablet every other day. Maybe it's a good thing I don't know how to draw blood from her...I'd take samples up every week like the neurotic mama that I'm becoming. :roll: :YMSIGH:

I'd get her bloodwork done before you restart the potassium. I know it is such a stress for you both but it's really better for you to find out the cause of the wobbles. Giving potassium if not needed can cause a host of other issues.
