Smooth sailing yesterday

Good morning! ~O)

Hrm... Kinda a high this morning. I cut back his food by half due to the vomiting and gave him an extra half-can of friskies last night. That's the only thing I have changed and I know I got a good shot in last night.

Hoping for another smooth sailing day with no high numbers tonight!

Re: 11/16 AMPS 513

Good morning Tina and Frank ~O) ~O) (the coffee is not for you Frank, sorry)
Well yesterday sure turned out to be decent for you didn't it  Sucks about the black this morning, but I know with Twice, he would get even a blue number and jump right up from that. Until they start really settling into the dose, it looks like that kind of craziness will happen here and there. Once you get a couple more tests today, you will be able to see if it's just one high reading or a trend to the day. And the peeps will give you more info about what is going on with him.
Hope your all have a great day in Frankville! :-D

Re: 11/16 PMPS 371 Stuck myself...

Good evening all!

Been an okay day, so far. I stuck myself with an insulin needle though. I drew it up, went to cap it (which I should know better having been a phlebotomist) and it bent, went through the cap and stuck me in the thumb. I'm fairly certain nothing went in; my fingers where nowhere near the plunger. It's probably nothing, but thought I would check and make sure.

Re: 11/16 PMPS 371 Stuck myself...

Evening Tina - I bet most of us here have done the same thing with the needle. A little polysporin will help with the sting. I assume you had already done the shot and there was no insulin left? If in doubt, have a piece of chocolate.

By the way, Frank deserves a mention on your subject line. ;-) Keep on coming down Frank - let's see some blues again.

Re: 11/16 PMPS 371 Stuck myself...

Haha... oops. I did forget to put him in there, didn't I?

I stuck myself pre-shot, trashed the needle and started over. Had I stuck myself post-shot, not knowing this cat that well (only started taking care of him two days before he was diagnosed), I would be a lot more worried.
