Vacation dosing 11/15

We had a bit of a struggle testing tonight..
First read was 14.1.. i wasnt sure i got enough blood
So i checked again from the blood on the back of the ear and it was 21.3.
Poked again, 14.8
I was confused so i tried again and got 13.8.
The last number was the largest collection of blood, probably more than we usually get from him and i had to apply pressure to the ear afterwards..

A favour to ask of you, please report blood sugar values in dg/mL. The spreadsheet does the conversion, or you can just multiply by 18. The FDMB server is in the US, the majority of people who help others are too. You'll find that if you are bilingual, you'll get more people helping. And if you have a question, best to change the subject prefix to a "?". You do that by editing your first post.

There is also the factor of allowable manufacturers error. Depending on location, they can be 15-20% apart, which is a larger amount in higher numbers. 248 (13.8) and 266 (14.8) are less than 10% apart. I would have ignored the higher outlier. And in all cases, you could have shot. You have shot this dose at 254 before, very close. It is best for Bear if you can keep giving insulin.

You are very right- we had some stressful family stuff today, and my anxiety probably clouded my judgment.. also probably why the test did not go as well as usual loll, yet another learning curve for us.

Hang in there Vanessa. There’s a huge learning curve here. It’s a lot to get used to and you’re doing great with Bear.
