Tiki was acting really off last night...sneezing, not eating, being mean (on purpose), slept alone in the corner of the room - but this morning he is back on the bed, has eaten a LITTLE from last night. I just took his BG reading and he ate his treat. He seems more like himself.

Do I change anything with regards to his shot if he is sick? IE - don't give it to him (he is still at 316, so it's not like his blood numbers are really low).

I'd get a ketone test as a preventative measure.

If a cat is sick/battling an infection, you want to give insulin as long as your cat is eating. The dose may need to be adjusted if your cat's not eating, but insulin is crucial. DKA (diabetic ketoacidosis) can often result from infection, not enough insulin, and not eating.

If this is just being sneezy, many of us use L-lysine as a supplement that helps to boost the immune system.

He seems better today, and even ate well (per his standards anyway). He is playing with a mouse toy as I type this.

I got my lysine at iherb.com - pure lysine powder. I was sent info from a friend of mine on a recent journal article that doubles the recommended amount of lysine for flare ups to 500mg twice a day. Susan and Lanky did this after going to the ER with sniffles and it worked like Magic.

Back in the yellows...perhaps the wave finally crashed on the beach. Crossing fingers for a continued yellow evening!

Tiki seems better - still keeping my eye on him as there is still food in his dish and he sneezed again when I gave him some catnip. But his pissy factor has decreased (which makes the bite marks in my hand and arm happy)...
