Happy Fursday!

Sorry I never got to check in yesterday. I had the house cleaners here and my bronchitis is worse than it was so by the time they left, all I could do was care for Racci and go to bed. Racci stayed blue all day and hid most of the day until well after they left. I finally got her out of the closet to eat & poop and take a nap in front of the tv with me in the evening.

I did check in to see what was going on with Moonie however and was pleased to see that Roni was doing a little better and Moonie was home, I take it. I sure hope Moonie picked up today.

Racci is still running high (for Racci) this morning but hopefully she came down by now. I'm going to take a 3.5 test now. TTYL and hope you all have a good day!

Hugs,
Melanie & Racci

Hi Rhiannon,

I know what you mean about Dr's offices and shopping carts! They're germ baths! I feel like little Jesse might have brought me the flu already. Ive been feeling really bad the past few days. I have no resistance and in the winter stay out of stores and crowded places. I send either my dh or ddil to the store whenever I can to keep out of the germs.

Racci is not going green today again. Maybe tomorrow. I'm almost out of strips and her order isn't here yet so I'm only testing when it's necessary until they get her so I may miss one or two but that't ok. I have to go test and give meds and shot & food now so talk to you later.

Have a great night!
Hugs!

Hi Melanie

I'm sorry you are still fighting that bronchitis. I hope you kick it soon and feel better.

I noticed Racci got into the 30s on 11/9 but didn't get a reduction. It's so important to give them reductions when they earn them or the depot can get ahead of them. Usually a number in the 30s warrants a .25u reduction.

I know you haven't been well, but when you can , I'd read this post on Reductions

Feel better soon.

Hi Marje,

Thanks for the well wishes. I really do need to kick this bronchitis but it always lasts a long time when I get it in the winter so I'm used to it. I have COPD so when I get it it doesn't want to go away & season changes are especially hard for me, especially winter.

About the deduction for the 31, I decided not to take it unless she got 3 under 50's on different days and she only got 2. I think that the only reason she was at 31 rather than in the 40's or 50s was because it was almost 4 hours instead of the 3-3.5 that I usually test her at and she had not had a large breakfast earlier. As soon as she ate something she came up and stayed up.

Racci has not been stable lately. She went from all normal numbers and 2.75u back up to 3.25u and not staying in the normal range and in fact only sometimes going green and high greens at that. If she had been running greens at a stable rate or normal blues it would have been different but since she has been back and forth with this dose 4 times already and cannot hold the deductions, I feel that she must stabilize first and get back to her low numbers before I take deductions or I will just wind up bringing her back up again. I think she needs a strict standard for deductions. Please think about this and tell me if you still think the same way taking Racci in particular rather than a general rule into account. I think Racci is a case of ECID. Thanks.
Hugs!
