He had a good day yesterday...,mom did not, had a major meltdown last night and gave his food and shot to DH, said I can't do this anymore, and went to bed, at 5.45pm.

I think I have recovered, am going to switch him to F.F., lower carbs, and hope someone will explain to me what to do about his dosing???

no luck with his vet, she said to go to 2 units, and I now know that you adjust in increments...

I am staying home over the holiday next week, so adjustments are going to happen then. DH going to Mass to visit both families.

Thanks Linda, Weezer is lucky to have you!

I hope I get some help today too. and I am looking for a new vet...

First...we've all been there on the frustration and just wanting to be done so sending you extra hugs.

This is a tough one. Mainly because you aren't getting in enough tests for us to really see what is going on. However, it doesn't look like he is doing horrific bouncing so I'm going to think that perhaps he hasn't gone too low and just needs a bit more insulin.

I am glad your wisdom prevailed on the increase to 2u. That is way too much. IF and only if you start getting more tests, I would suggest you take Junior up to 1.25u bid. But you absolutely have to get more tests because he's just
on the edge and a little more insulin could put him in a lot lower numbers. If you are not able to do alot more monitoring, then I cannot in good conscience recommend that you take him up. You also cannot give his shot without testing
him....that puts him at great risk. You would have been better off last night not shooting then to take the gamble of shooting blindly. Would you give your child insulin without testing first?

We all have challenges and difficulties but in order to follow the protocol and get him into some great numbers, you'll have to test more. You should at least get a +2 and a midcycle test every cycle.
