November 13, 2018 Condo - Day 7 Post Dental

Good morning all! Lou finally made it to the lagoon and stayed a bit yesterday! I'm much more excited about that than I should be, haha. He's still been doing well post dental. I've been thinking more about how long I should give him to settle before talking to my vet about switching insulins. My basaglar expires at the end of December, so I know I need to order more insulin soon enough. I would like to see him settle to see if he has better BGs post-dental, but I don't want to wait until it's completely freezing outside to order. I probably would have ordered already if I had planned to keep him on the basaglar. I think I'll give him another week before asking the vet for a new prescription, although part of me wants to just get what I need and get the new insulin on it's way. (Apparently I'm antsy and I can't even try to get my patience pants to stay on, haha).

I hope you all have a wonderful day and your kitties surf safely. Sending vines to Tracey and Jonesy (@Tracey&Jones ) and Angela and Miss P (@Phoebes ).

I think your excitement is perfectly warranted. It's the little things in this dance that helps up to stay uplifted!

Are you thinking to switch to Lantus? I know that Chris and China were using the Basaglar and went back to Lantus, but I can't remember why.

Not a bad bounce from Lagoon time! :)

Absolutely! I only briefly thought about switching Lantus. I've had my eye on Levemir for a while now, even when he was still on Vetsulin. I just didn't open my mouth when she suggested he move to glargine. (No idea why) When I decided to go with the Basaglar, I figured I'd give it until it was time to buy new insulin (since the Basaglar had such a short expiration date) to see how he did. He's pretty bouncy on the Basaglar, and I thought Levemir might be good option to hopefully help him smooth out. So I'm willing to try it.

Lol sometimes you need suspenders!! Ty for those extra vines!
Yes! I've totally been thinking about getting suspenders for my pj pants, haha. I think it would be a great look! :p

Neko took 10 days after dental for the inflammation to fade and dose come down. Day Eight for Lou.

I would always choose Lev over Lantus, but that’s just me. If you are thinking of ordering from Marks, don’t worry about being cold at the source. Not even cold enough for snow on the local ski hills. Marks is a 35 minute drive away, if traffic is Ok.

Chris switched back to Lantus, better the devil you know. Her Basaglar time was just an experiment cause DCiN was seeing more of it. China barely noticed the difference.
