Hello Guys,

Yesterday,
http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=56338

Shanga eats open buffet, I think that's why he gets higher numbers in the day... Because sometimes I dont know when he is eating...and maybe then checking his BG...
His mouth seems better, But he still has wounds back of his hind teeth... He needs to wait for dental cleaning until his BG is completely regulated. That's what vet said....

we've seen cats that can't get regulated until their dental work is done. there have been a lot of stories of cats whose dosage needs dropped significantly after dental cleanings and work. if shanga has sores in his mouth, i would guess you aren't going to see the regulation until his mouth clears up.

will the vet do it even if he thinks it's too soon? can you convince him?

Hello Julie,

Yes, I agree with you about dental... I think he has good numbers to take anesthesia...
I will keep calling her this week about it...

Shanga has bad plaques on his 2 teeth...And that really bothers me... But we have no dental vets here so their knowledge is limited...
But I am gonna try to make my best. His new vet is sweet, Im gonna talk about it.... :)

Hugzzz

Hi, Hande ~

Shanga is doing so well on that low dose of Lantus, and he'll probably do even better after he has his dental. Hope you're able to convince your vet to go ahead with the dental soon, Hande, since you have Shanga better regulated now. Our cat Butters needs a dental, too. He has oral resorptive lesions and may need to have a couple more of his teeth extracted.

Thinking of you and Shanga.

Hugs,
Eva
