Morning all,
Hope your Saturday goes well with your kitties.
Fell asleep last night so did not test further.
AMPS 180
Let's see what he has in store for me.... ;-)

but you could do +4.5 if you're really curious.

i gave into my curiosity and i tested at +4.5 he is still 79.2

i feel so bad testing so many times.... :(

you have treats for Rocket? like low carb freeze dried chicken or something something?
treats reinforce positive attitude for ear pokes :-D or a nice brushing to keep him happy.

you're doing great Claudia, picking up on when to test is getting easier.

he doesn't like the freezer dried chicken when i poke him....he likes licking that vaseline tube....that's how i distract him also...
at +5 he is still 79.2
correct me if i'm wrong but once they surf they dont' drop, right?
i will stop the testing for a few hrs now...is that ok?

the best way to figure out whether you think rocket will drop or not is by looking at the data you've collected. it's why we collect it. :-D
kitties may bobble up and down a little when they're surfing.

i will probably do +2 to see where he is at...hopefully it won't be one of those nights of constant testing...but then again...he is full of surprises!

if i panic i will shout...ok....thanks for helping me...it's much appreciated to know someone out there is at least paying attention and helping me out....

he just ate at +2 but checked to get me out of doubt and he is 95.4
looks like a +3 will be needed here

it looks like Rocket usually likes to race down to green and then surf in the same range for hours, with his lowest somewhere around +5. You're getting good data. :smile:

no need to panic, but I would feed a couple tsp of his low carb food and then test in 1/2 hour. Let's see if the food helps him surf.

good, the food put on the brakes for us. He might wobble back downward again, so do keep on top of it (like you always do!).

how long is it til bedtime? You might want to get a +5 since that seems to be about when he nadirs. After that then you can probably leave out food and sleep, unless +5 is lower.

a +5 is ok....that is in 1/2 hr...he is eating as we speak...so by the time i test he will probably be going up.
he seems so tired....probably from the poking
his #s are getting lower so it seems...is this normal? just wondering...the vet wants me to do another curve per se 10 days after he started insulin to see if a dose decrease is in place....but btwn you guys and i....based on his first time on insulin...i trust you guys more... lol

his BGs are probably getting lower because he is healing. Maybe his pancreatitis flare is easing up, and/or maybe the insulin is helping support his pancreas so it can get better.

I think Rocket will be earning a dose reduction very soon.

I hope he is getting the support he needs with the insulin and that his pancreas gets to a comfortable state...i always wish the best for him....as i've said before...he's such a trooper...considering all the illnesses...he is my hero...and even after i poke him and pill him and give subq fluids...he still gets happy to see me and sleeps next to me at night....he loves to cuddle....
