11/12 Tansi AMPS 292 +2 295, +7 191, PMPS 185, +2 137, +4 149 +7 198,

How is he doing today?

Is he still loopy? Is it possible the bupre and gabapentin is to high a dose? My 10.14 lb gets 0.13 ml bupre. My 18 lb and 12 lb only got 12.5 mg gab when they were in it.

Ok good to know
He is pretty heavy but I am not sure what he weighs. I will cut next bupre in half.
Super sleepy with 50 mg gabapentin last night.
Just gave bupre now.

I hope his appetite improves today or the syringe feeding gets easier. :bighug:
Good morning Elise
I hope you are good.
He ate a couple teaspoons of hi carb gravy ff this morning on his own. Should I syringe feed him more? In the syringe I have ff pate, a squeeze up, and water.
I will in an hour in any case.
That hi AMPS is alarming.
Could it just be the food?
He LOVED kibble in the old days, should I get some and see if he will eat some?

It's worth trying less on the pain med but you don't want him in pain. Even giving less every 8 hrs would be better than him being to zonked to eat.

The 50mg gab is what most people give 2 hrs before a vet visit to lightly sedate so cat can be handled better.

As far as glucose reading high, depot was drained when in hospital. It will take 3+ days to re-establish. Also pain can keep glucose elevated. His glucose isn't that bad at all considering what he has and is going through.

He will be up and down for awhile. Appetite will waver. There will be days where he just looks awful, disheveled.

Hang in there. You are doing great. You will get Tansi through this. It's time and patience and pain drugs. Shoot at times I wish I could have had the bupre instead.I

By any chance do you have any low carb kibble? Can you get Wysong Epigen 90, that's not to bad if it's all you can get in him. Maybe @Chris & China (GA) has other ideas you can get in Canada.

That is so helpful, your kind message.
Honestly this morning I was wondering if we would lose him, he looks so terrible and out of it.
Yes, I have been stretching out the bupre, one dose in morning. Then one gabapentin in evening. He is staggering a wee bit and sleeping most of the time.
I will try to figure out how to get the Wysong later this morning.
Thanks for the reassuring words.

That's great. It's fairly low carb and if Tansi is eating some kibble now, this would be better.

To be honest, I would not stretch out the bupre. Pancreatitis is very painful. Bupre is pain med of choice. Cats won't eat if in pain. Do you know the concentration of the bupre? It should be on label. Can you post photo of label?

Sorry I cant post photo. Label says 0.3mg/mL/mL, and each dose is .33 mL
Every 8 to 12 hours as needed.
I only have 6 doses left, so if I give every eight hours then it will be finished Sunday.
I better try to get more now
They would only give 3 days because it's a controlled substance.

Update
Ordered refill on bupre, may get it today but maybe not till monday so will space it out if necessary

Will giving 1/2 dose every 12 hrs give you enough until order arrives? You don't what Tansi to have none even for 1 day.

I know, use to get same response from my vet about controlled substance. eventually vet finally ordered me 30 day supply with 3 refills. However Tansi will need it possibly for a few weeks. Acute Pancreatitis is a long ordeal.
