11/12 Rocket-update on both incl Comet

[Rocket & his Mom]

hi LL family,
took Comet in to the vet....blood work done but results not in until Tuesday next week

Vet removed the outter lump...but he still has the inner lump (i had no idea)...when they sedated Comet to take out the outter lump he took a closer look and said the inner lump will continue to grow if not removed...that is the one that has caused his ear damage....i feel so bad...but vet could not confirm if that was the case as he is attributing him going deaf to his age...but i compare him to Rocket (though different species) and Rocket is pretty sharp with his hearing...

we have tentatively booked him in for Thursday depending on the results from the blood work...the mini lab work done for today was to see if he could get the lump removed and not hemorrage....so we wait...

the one removed today could not wait as per the vet as Comet has been scratching (aggravating) it.....so my poor baby is in pain....he cries when in pain...no pain med given but if need be i will use some of Rocket's bupe to ease him thru the night....

prayers still needed and much appreciated...

on another note...Rocket has been pretty high in BG levels...will update his SS tomorrow....this time i can't blame it to the kibble...he didn't get a hold of any of Comet's food....so not sure what's causing the higher numbers....

he is eating ok....has lost weight...i have upped his subq fluids....we are using new cartridge and negative for ketones....watching him like a hawk...if things still look not normal...then off to the vet we go....i'm hoping it's just a bad day...he is alert and sociable...but i have a gut feeling this hyper-T dx is just around the corner....i truly hope not...he does not need any more meds....so prayers needed there too....

praying for Jill's DH, for Thelma, i'm glad Ozzie and Tawny are doing much better....i'm gonna try to get caught up on my condo reading...i'm sorry if i've missed anyone....i hope Iorwen's mom is doing better...still praying for Sienne's sister....and everyone here on LL whether you need prayers or not....i pray for you all always....

Comet Looks Oh so sweet!!! How could the vet NOT give any pain meds??
Praying for both of your babies..Claudia you are such a good Momma bean!! I just know they will both be alright in a few days...We tend to watch them so so much, I do the same thing..But I have learned Moonie can look so poorly at one point of the day, & be better later on...Praying for Comet & Rocket and for you to have some Peace..Hugs & love from us,

It seems as if just when you think you have a handle on one baby something happens with the other one. I have had that kind of week also and it's frightening and painful and awful and tiring. But they are so worth it.
