Henry is angling for another dose increase if he doesn’t get with it today!! I’ll check back in tonight and give you some thoughts about dose for tomorrow.
have a great day.
Thank you very much, Robert. IMHO, I’d you don’t see something below 300 tonight, I’d suggest increasing to 4u tomorrow and see if, as you suspect, that will get him closer to his fitting dose.Back in May 2020 he had those two BG curves and both were essentially the same which at that time it was 4 units (Entire Month of May)
I was hoping Henry would fall short of 4.0 units because he's lost about 12% weight (by design on diet) since those events
Henry's google spreadsheet with those posted greens was when I took it upon myself to give him 4.5 units in the middle of September and waited (17) days to do a BG readings
His current google spreadsheet is totally running parallel with what we had under
the Vet supervision (Attached Spreadsheet)
The 4.0 units started to show we were very close to his ideal dose
Something tells me the today's PMPS is going to be more positive (wait and see)
Your frustration is exactly what I felt under the Vet supervision when is this thing going to break
Thank You Marje

It looks like the increase is OBE.Marje I have to be honest with you I'm little scared of the 0.5 unit increase.
My saying 4.0 units was not to suggest anything as to an increase just giving you some history.
It's really hard to get a correct interpretation thru messaging.
My line of thought is that Henry is lighter in weight and therefore he may not require as much insulin due to being lighter.
But if you think it's OK from your experience (no influence from me) it's OK with me
I hope this rambling makes sense
It looks like the increase is OBE.
But...still to address your concerns. Just because I or anyone makes a suggestion doesn’t mean you have to take it. You are with him and know him best. I can go off our methods and what I see on the SS but you are more integrally involved in his feeding. It’s your decision and I support that.
I know you feel the weight has to do with the dose and starting out with TR, we do use weight in deciding a starting dose. But I’ve seen 24 lb cats on low doses and 8 lb cats on high ones. I just wouldn’t get too much in the weeds with equating weight and dose.
With the yellow tonight, you’ll want to hold the current dose two more cycles and reassess. My gut tells me he will still need more insulin but that might be a 0.25u increase.
