Not much to say this morning. Last day at the old job, life about to get easier! Woohoo! Buddy is easier to get to purr, he actually slept on and off with my GF (who fell asleep on the couch last night) for 5-10 minutes at a time. I'm going to try to weigh him, but this is hard cause he eats so much, don't want a full belly to influence the reading. I guess if I start weighing him at the same time of the cycle (food/poo/pee) the numbers would reflect relative increases/decreases. Didn't wake up with alarm at 1am again. Pissed at self. Really want that number, but I sleep like a log some nights. Some nights I don't. He didn't throw up at all last night. Good sign.

Have a wonderful day!

That's a nice even numbered AMPS Buddy....loose a 100 points and it would be excellent!
Glad about the no throw up report...and btw, I have started using TWO alarms for my 3am wake up...it seems to be working! But, wow, what a racket at that hour of the night!!

Almost yellow! :-D Glad to hear that buddy is starting to feel a little better ... don't feel bad about not getting up ... we have three alarms in our bedroom (one way across the room) and we still manage to sleep through them some nights .. it happens. Anyways, have a great day guys!

Re: 11/11 Buddy AMPS 300

Thanks all,

My alarm is my cell phone, it goes off for 1 min. and sleeps auto for 5. Does this cycle for 30 min. don't know how I sleep through it. I really want that number - GRR. I live in a twin and am loath to set my stereo to go off as the bass has a tendency to travel through the "party" wall. . . Anyway, seems like he might be leveling off a tad which is good. I am happy to start seeing consistency in his numbers again. Going to weigh him (with me on scale) tonight. I'll do this weekly at around the same time to correct for variables like food in the belly, poo and pee still on board. He's pretty "regular" about these things. Haha.

ONE MORE LONG TRIP HOME! Then it's off to 12mi each way. Still ecstatic about this. . . . will make taking care of Buddy 100% easier.

Not a bad AMPS, Tony! I'm with you on the alarms, I hate when I sleep through them, but we all do it at times. Yay on no throwing up last night! Double yay on the job change making your life easier!! I know it's been tough with your schedule.

I weigh my cats weekly using the same method, but I don't worry about time of day so much. My scale only measures by the half pound, but it's accurate enough to see any major weight changes.

Re: 11/11 Buddy AMPS 300

Laurie,

Reason I am thinking time of day is important is because he eats 10oz wet food for dinner. Also, cause he eats so much, his ah, "piles" are kinda big too. So it might actually have an effect even though my scale is only 0.5lb. precise.

Re: 11/11 Buddy AMPS 300 +11 322

Got the +11 cause it was my last day and I took off a little early. . . hehehe. The GF was home all day (Veterans Day) and found some hairball puke from Buddy. When I got home, she had the front bedroom door open (room we feed the civie in sometimes) and he was laying on the bed curled up so I poked him and got a reading. Afterwards, I kneeled beside the bed and rubbed him and he curled up more - Buddy style - then showed me his belly and I rubbed that too. He was purring up a storm when I went for the big guns and rubbed my beard scruff on his head (he really likes this). All and all we had a good 15 min. purr/cuddle time. Was really good.
I'm still working on that +6 and I plan on attempting another curve this Sunday, but will break it off if it looks like he's in his daytime bounce. I don't see the point wasting pokes/strips for high flat numbers, been there done that. Anyone feel otherwise, I am open to discussion on that point though? My feeling though after getting this +11 and his demeanor the past few days is that he may be having normal insulin activity during the day with no bounce. Only speculating here though. Also speculating that once I get a +6 and or +8 and or the curve done with meaningful data, that I'll be upping the insulin to 1unit and that will be just about right for him to see some pretty normal numbers. . . . . only speculation right now, I have a tendency to think ahead.

I'm glad things will be getting easier for you now. I agree that once you are able to get some spot checks, it might be time to change Buddy's dose. Right now there isn't enough data, but it sounds like you'll be able to get some soon.

Everytime i speculate, he throws me a curve ball. I was the one who fell asleep on the couch tonight. Just drifted off after my show. . . . I recall waking up with a Buddy curled under my are (how cute) and drifting back off. Then I woke up to a crying Buddy (he announces a pukus) at 12am. Got a drop of blood at about 12:15 while feeding a bit and got the 120. Don't know what to make of that yet. Def. not looking to up his dose till I see more data over this period. . .
Stupid Bean! No more thinking ahead.
