Not too bad of a bounce, slowly clearing.

WCR: Tinkles was quite vocal last night at PMPS...talking into his food bowl again! He was very frisky this morning, tackling Pita while she was wrestling with Angel....what a riot! He is the biggest and heaviest cat, so while Pita is very solid, he can throw her down and pin her and she is NOT used to that! There was some hissing, and glaring afterwards....they are working out the new pecking order I guess. Funny...Angel is about the same age as Tinkles, and they play nicely together...it seemed like Tinkles was jumping in to save Angel. It's been very interesting to see the change in the dynamics since Tinkles is feeling good, has learned how to play and is a full participant in the kitty circus. Anyway, Tinkles is feeling great, eating well, all P's in place.

sounds like a zoo there :lol: But it's great to hear how good Mr. Tinkles is feeling.

great WCR! I also love the flat blue he is showing off today .. hopefully soon it will all be flat greens, right? Have a great day guys!

Sounds like a fun time at your house, Laurie. It scares the heck out of me, when my little one tackles Checkers, 'cause Checks rolls over and gets those big bunny feet going, and I'm afraid he's gonna put Clancy's other eye out. (he's got only one)
Mr Tinkles has nice blue numbers going. Hope he stays nice and blue or green for you today. :smile:

Yey for Mr.Tinkles feeling better and getting in on the action!
I will have a talk with Mowgli and share how he too will be able to get back into the play action too, if he would start to get his numbers more consistent!

Kitty wrestling....good exercise. Good to hear that Mr. Tinkles is so active and pariticipating in the fun.

I was going to ask about talking. Do you notice a trend? Maverick isn't a talker but since his diabetes came back he's talking. He'll lie at the end of the bed and just meow like he's having a conversation with an imaginary friend. (Not yowls, just normal inquisitive meows). He did this before when he was first diagnosed earlier this year. Wonder if its a glucose thing?

I love the way they talk to each other, we have a male orange moose, he not only is our talker, but he looks out for the girls, he is always wanting to clean them and sits beside them when they have furball coughs (regular mother hen he is). Ess being the oldest wants no part of that and woops him in the head when he tries. I hadnt seen that in a while, and at the begining of the week I got to see it again. Its such a warm feeling to see them get better. Mr Tinkles tell the others who's boss.....

:lol: on the bunny feet..picture big manx hare-looking hind legs...then add hockwalking...binks looks like he's wearing shoes 28 sizes too large.

I'm sorry, but I always giggle like a 5 year-old when I read Mr. Tinkles name.
I thought I'd get used to it after all this time ... but nope, hee, hee, hee!

Karrie, Mr Tinkles used to be a talker before he got sick, he would stand in the middle of a room and just meow away until you responded to him...almost like he was calling, "Hey, anybody home?" :lol: When he was sick and first diagnosed, he stopped talking, he just laid around all the time. So, talking is a return to normal behavior for him...a great thing!

The playing is a totally new thing....he is about 14, we adopted him 5 years ago and I had only seen him try to play a few times. Once he started feeling so much better with Lantus, he started trying to play, but he really had no idea HOW to play, so it's been an interesting process to watch him learning how to play...sad in one way, that he has missed out on this for so long, but so exciting to see him becoming a new cat! He plays every day now.

This is the silver lining to the FD diagnosis...Mr Tinkles is probably healthier NOW than he has ever been in his whole life! Everything I have learned here has done this for him. I'm so grateful for all the help I have received, he would not be where he is if it were not for these great folks and their generosity in sharing their knowledge and experience! This truly is a very special place....there is so much to be gained here for those who are willing to listen and learn.

Sorry to go on so much...Mr Tinkles just passed his 6 month anniversary of his diagnosis on October 27th, and I've come to the realization that he most likely will be a long-timer. I'm ok with that, I never got my hopes up for remission, I'm a realist...but it has made me look back at the road we have traveled and see how far we have come. It's all good. :-D

There is definitely a silver lining to FD isn't there? Not only does it help the sugar kitty, but all the kitties in the household! We learn so much here. Nice +4 Tinkles!

OHHH Laurie,

There isnt a day that hasnt gone by, Ive not thought about how you have given back to Essi and myself. And there are just no words to express how much im gratelfull for all of you. There is a reward, for the good you do girl -I love the fact Mr Tinkles is playing. Everytime I give Ess her insulin, I let her play w/her needle (secured), after all it pokes her, she is allowed to bite back LOL... Laurie thank you for all you have done.
