Caught, Sidney, Curry's civvie eating some of her wet food......Might start slowly introducing it to her now since she's telling me she likes it. This is my picky and finicky eater who likes to stop eating w/stressed.

Curry you are starting your day off with a great number.

As far as the wet food for Sidney.....it always tastes better in somebody else's plate. :mrgreen:

51 is getting to be a habit with this little kitty........or maybe my glucometer doesn't go past 51... :mrgreen:

she wasn't as hungry this morning...maybe she is getting use to the lower numbers......opened a fresh can of the LC and she gobbled it up.......will test her before going LATE to work...and leave out some LC along w/her +1 feeder snack......I think she's eating the snack...who knows....maybe its been Sidney lately.....ummmm

Go Curry! So glad Sidney is liking the canned food now, too, although it does make you wonder who's eating the snacks, huh?

Hi Teena,

Beautiful #'s for Curry today. At BG 51, how much of that fresh canned food did you feed Curry? Gandolf would eat a whole 5.5oz can sometimes if I let him. I try to keep it at 1/2 but sometimes, he asks for more.

How much is a "meal" and how much is a "snack"? Just working on regulating Gandolf's food more since I'm getting busier and trying to keep him happy without letting him eat himself "overweight" again. Good news to hear Sidney is interested in the wet food.

Cee - Curry is getting around 135-150 calories a day. Morning, she gets 1/2 of small FF can and the other 1/2 in the evening. I use to divide her AM meals into 3 given once every hr unless her numbers are diving. Now, I'm putting out 1/4 can (1/2 of her AM) at shot time and the other at +1.5. But when she starts diving like last night ....I gave it to her early. She never lost wt. before getting the dx...she was overweight and gaining then.....Then I put her on a wt reduction program for a period and now I'm adding calories back into her diet. I weight her about 1 a week or every 2 weeks. Her "snacks" at +8 really aren't much....teaspoon FF w/water...I will freeze them and let them thaw out over time. I also give her a freezed dried treat every time I test (very small sometimes) and then her dental treats.

I think her stomach has shrunk....She can't eat too much in one sitting....She will take her about 1/2 an hour to eat her first meal.

When I've seen her dropping now after I've given her all her meals..I'll give a teaspoon at a time of the Fancy Fiest 2%....I use to add gravy at the 51 mark, but I notice that she will now slow down just w/the LC food.....she's been doing that so often lately that I'm finally getting it...what works for her body.

Well....Curry's civvie, Sidney, transitioned on her own to the canned food tonight. She decided that it was very yummy.

Curry didn't eat her +8 snack today...came home at +9.5 and it was still there.....so she went from +77 to 100 in 2.5 hours....haven't monitored her eating the snacks since Monday....Have no idea who ate snacks on Monday and Tuesday.

Had to chase Curry to give her the shot....I usually give it to her while she is eating in the kitchen....she decided she didn't want to eat in the kitchen this evening....I've been keeping the feeder in the living room to help encourage her to eat out of it....Now she knows that I typically don't shoot her in the living room so that's where she wanted to eat.....I'll be bringing the feeder back into the kitchen. :mrgreen:

I love it. Sid's eating Curry's food. Curry want's dinner in the living room if for no other reason than to avoid her shot and you're running after her. Don't they have us well trained?

very nice Curry! Nice day all around! Interesting on the food and calories - I really need to pay more attention to the amount of calories Mannie is eating. Here you're wanting to put back on, I'm looking at taking off.

Nice that Sid is eating the canned - YAY!

Ummmmm.......wondering now if perhaps I didn't give a fur shot or something else this evening....when I had to chase her to give the shot....ummmmm.....only this evening will tell.
 
Nadir is +3....ummmmm.....Oh well...tomorrow is another day. Good news is that Sidney liked the canned food this evening....and I get to go to bed early tonight.

might try and get a +8 reading tonight if i can wake up enough.

Curry's looking great Tena! Those are some beautiful numbers!

I've been giving Emma about a tablespoon of pumpkin mixed in with her AM and PM meals. She eats about a total of 5-6 oz of food a day, so there's a good amount of food to mix the pumpkin with. It's really been working like a charm for her. The miralax was helping, but like I said, it was still only every other day, and sometimes every 3 days. Now it's almost always everyday, and she seems to feel better.
