She is losing her hold on great numbers - we are seeing some 300s again.
I have been really busy and not home during the mid-day so few spot checks. I also will be trying for an early curve today before I head out for the evening. I should be able to get up to +6. I am not convinced she needs a dose increase, but I bumped her up to .3u a few cycles ago as the numbers climbed. They started going up after I decided to try feeding her "as much as she wanted". That seemed to not only fuel the numbers but her appetite as well AND her irritation at one and all. I am now feeding her about 2-3 ozs every 2-4 hours, except overnight when she can go about 7 hours between meals.
She has been very irritable the whole time I have had her. I would have thought that consistent food, insulin and attention would have calmed her down a least somewhat by now. I remember with Jeddie that he was very mad when I got him, struggled so much during testing that I had to burrito him, and he ate a lot, but he also explored, slept in the various kitty beds, looked out the window, got on my lap, purred, presented his belly for rubs and mostly ignored the other cats. By one month's time, he was touching noses with Ariel and Beau. Cami is not doing any of those things, except a few minutes on my lap once or twice a week. She is so angry and agitated, cries for food even when she has just been fed 3 ozs, growls and hisses at the other cats and me (if I don't feed her again). She is also peeing outside the LB routinely now.
I don't know what else to do. I am prepared for this to take time, but I just don't think she is happy at all and I don't know what I can do to help her. I also don't want to have the carpet in my LR/DR ruined because I can't afford to replace it or even remove it and put in a hard floor surface - like I had to do in the bedroom after Jeddie ruined that carpet.
Anyway, I wish things were going better for her because I think she would be happier. She is so sweet for those few minutes she will get on my lap and purr. It never last more than about 5 mins though.
If you can spare a moment to send her calming thoughts maybe that would help.
