Numbers back down today! Hope everyone has a great weekend.
Today I stopped by the pet store I adopted Xander from over 10 years ago and felt nostalgic. At the time, I was browsing cats on petfinder and ran across Xander's profile. He had the goofiest profile picture that really accentuated his Siamese cross-eyedness and knew I had to see him in person. That weekend, we went to the pet store that hosts the cats for adoption and found him in the very first cage. I learned that he was surrendered after he was bitten on the tail/butt area by a dog and had a pretty bad infection. He must have been there quite a while, as he was completely healed.
We waited for someone to take him in the main play area with us, while a kid was running around disturbing all of the sleeping cats. When he got to Xander's cage and stuck his fingers in Xander immediately bit him and went right back to lounging around. It was as if he was standing up for the other cats telling the kid to chill out.
In the following weeks, he quickly started to lay on me and love me but not going to lie - he nibbled on me a bit in the play area as well
