Hi everyone. Hope all the kitties are doing good as well as their humans. Sorry I haven’t been posting lately but not much to post about.

I thought we had bumped up his dose to a fat 1.5 but I found out Matt only bumped it up that one dose! We have now bumped it up and have gotten some steep drops the last couple days. One being yesterday as I was on my way out the door to a doctors appt! At the same time hubby had an emergency at work and he was going to go with me. Since he was busy and we didn’t know for how long and I had to leave, poor Tiger got a dose of syrup. He had dropped from 167 to 94 in just minutes and was still going down on the Libre. I know most of your libre readings are higher than manual readings, ours is consistently higher than the manual. In fact we just changed the sensor Wednesday and it read 350 and the vets reading was 293. I just not sure what to think anymore. So it scares me when it starts getting lower. And when he falls it goes fast! Anyway we were better safe than sorry.

I managed to get to my appointment just a few minutes late but noticed in the waiting room I had sticky syrup all over my hands! Seems these cats always pick the wrong time to scare the heck out of us!

as for me, the doctor recommends surgery that will have me not putting any weight on my foot for 3 months. Not sure how I can do that….will cross that bridge after the holidays….

Hope everyone had a great Halloween and wishing you a wonderful and safe weekend!

Hi Deb, good luck with the actual increase. And safe surfing sweet Tiger.
It’s like they know when we have to leave that they dive. Whyyyyyyy????? :banghead::banghead:
Hope you have a nice weekend and hope your foot feels better. You’ve been through so much. I'm sorry to hear about the recommended surgery.
You’re so lucky you have such a great husband who helps so much. He’s awesome!! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Deb,

sorry to hear about the surgery. Good luck with it! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Also good luck with the increase. That was really a steep drop before your appointment! I would have been worried too.

The libre readings: Just have a look in Binies ss., I usually write down if I double check with a handheld. You will see that her higher libre readings are often lower on the handheld. But the lower readings below 100 on the libre are usually higher on the handheld. Maybe you manage to prick him one day while he is low to see, if it is like that for Tiger too.

Having syrup on my fingers could have happened to me too. :) One day I was at a work meeting and I wondered what I have on my glasses. It was little blood spots, because Binie was shaking her had after a poke in the morning. Not only I am unable to control her diabetes, this makes me somehow also loose control over my life.

Kisses for Tiger and a hug for you! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Heike! Actually we managed to get a manual reading this morning. He was low (for him) when I got up this morning. He was pestering me wanting to eat earlier than usual. Of course on the day we are trying be a little later to adjust for the time change!
Anyway I wanted to check it because we changed the libre 2 days ago and they do a comparison at the vet with the handheld. It was a lot lower than the libre. This morning it was about 40 points lower than the libre at around 200. It’s pretty consistent that the libre is higher.
I’m glad Binie is feeling good. Try not to worry too much when she is enjoying herself and enjoy it. There is plenty of time to worry when you have too! Hugs and kitty smooches!

Hi Heather ,I must have missed it about your ankle , what happened. You might know I had shoulder surgery on 8-30 I had a rotator cuff tear. Still going to physical therapy which is helping. Next body part is my hip and groin, can hardly walk sometimes. I see the surgeon on 11-13 to see what I will have to do. Have a labral tear in my hip . Sucks getting old.
I might have to put that surgery off for awhile since just having that surgery. How the hell would I be able to do anything. Well I'll find out in 11-13
What's my next body part to go lol

Hi Deb,

so great you managed to test Tiger! A 200 libre reading usually matches the handheld for Binie, if the errors are straigt, so there is really something different for Tiger. You are such a good mum to keep that in mind and double check with a hand held! I know Tiger is not the easiest patient too.... With Binie it became really easier over time, I hope with Tiger too. Have a great Sunday! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Oh Diane, I am sorry you have to go through another surgery but happy, your shoulder is healing. Yes, getting old sucks in a way.... In other ways, I feel things get easier too. Still remember how much I used to worry about things which don't bother me anymore in my 20th and 30th.... Hope you have a relaxed Sunday! :bighug::bighug::bighug:
