Good morning :)

So last night I've discovered I didn't do the dosing right because of those bloody lines on the syringe. After three months!

Dose set from today to 0.5 with plunger adjusted to the upper edge of the line (rather than the bottom) (see pics fro myesterday). And we're starting the count towards a reduction from 1 (unless he decides to throw a PJ party)

I'll get a clipper today (really thought I'm done with buying stuff...)

Fistuk is doing great! He was waiting patiently to his breakfast this morning. A green PM cycle. Bakery has regular opening hours ;) he's eating well and has good energy.

Wishing you all a wonderful day :bighug:

if you decided to buy callipers, you want to get one that can read up to 0.01 mm (i.e. 2 decimals and not 0.1mm) and you want one that has a screw over the display so that you can lock the arms once you set the measurement.
Ok. Thanks. I’ll have to see where I can get something like that here …

You can just use a "good" syringe as a reference. Measure the dose using it with coloured water and use that as a reference.

this is the plunger pushed all the way up (without pressure) - looks like the plunger is right on the line? And that the plunger is sitting centres in the line rather than just to the top of the line?
And this is how it looks when I press the plunger all the way to get air our as much as possible
Both look the same for me. You are right, the top of the plunger goes above the zero line when fully pushed, whereas it should align with the top of the zero line.

I feel your pain with the syringes! Calipers have helped me a lot. It’s unnerving how inaccurate the 0 lines on the bd syringes are! Fistuk is doing great though!

It's frustrating really. And if I'm honest I feel like I'm fed up with learning and reading about D matter after an intensive time I had to day and night both learn about D and take care of Fistuk intensively that I thought I've done my homework by now :banghead: But alas, I'll get a hang of the calliper thing and I'm grateful that Fistuk is doing so great. Just another little push :bighug:

Good morning Shelly!
I know what you mean!
I use a lighting board, lighted magnifying glass stand, and calipers.
Very very careful, then of course, I find bubbles in there :spam:
Harder in the morning when I have to do it before my :coffee::coffee::coffee:

But I agree with @Amy & Herman that Fistuk is doing so well!
Shelly, you've done a phenomenal job :)

Have a wonderful Monday :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Good Monday Morning!

I feel your pain, Shelly! My first vet told me the incorrect dosing on the lines and I was giving Cooper 0 insulin (instead of 1U) for the first few weeks. I am so glad little Fistuk is feeling great and the business is good with the bakery! Have a wonderful day! :cat:

Good morning Shelly.
The whole syringe debacle is certainly one we all wrestle with, obviously.
Fistuk looks great, so glad all systems are working well.
You’re doing wonderfully with him.
Can’t wait to see what he does today. Happy Monday. :bighug::bighug:

Just when you think you’re on top of it something comes up, right?! Thanks for understanding the frustration.
Thanks, Kit. It’s been a massive effort and I’m very grateful it has to fruits. Anything for Fistuk :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Vets are so maddening. Al happy you caught that!

I’ll get Fistuk to share some receipts so Cooper can open his bakery ;):bighug::bighug:

Thanks, Staci. Fistuk was very green today :D
