ok let see if I can help a little.. I dont think its as bad as you think.
I see he was all pink today but I find myself wondering if he dropped low last night ( low for him that is- which in his case might be blue) and so maybe is bouncing today. Sorry to suggest this but I think you might want to get up a few times at PMPS +5/+6 or around then and also do spot checks occasionally some nights at other times to see if he is dropping low. I dont see any measures at night so you dont know what he is doing then.. and not all cats do their nadir at +6. Probably he will bounce through tonite but when you see a yellow preshot you might want to consider setting the alarm for +5 or +6 etc to see if he drops down.
Also a few other thoughts:
- What meter are you using? (please can you update your profile with more info?) I have discovered that not all meters are accurate
- Are you still feeding Friskies pate? Which ones? Some of them can be over 10% carbs -
http://www.catinfo.org/docs/Food Chart Public 9-22-12.pdf You might want to try something a little lower carb to see if that helps.
- Also what kind of treats are you giving? Freeze dried chicken and liver is great and low carb. Avoid all the HC junk.
- Have you considered a move to Lantus? Maybe PM Sienne and see what she thinks.
- Maybe its time for another 1/4unit dose increase. And get those night time measures... nag nag

(I try to imagine it like I have a baby -its the same as getting up for its nighttime feeds.. but it doesnt take as long!)
Hope that helps!
