11/01 Tuffy AMBG 224

[Barbara and tuffy]

Very interesting day for Tuffy. TPR normal, LB action normal, Attitude normal. No contraband available. At a total loss for these numbers. I tested quite a bit today and she hit all bases. That ambg really set me back.

She is being an anomaly. She is also driving me nuts. At least, when she drops, she still tells me she is dropping by smacking me and hollaring for food. I will observe for a few day and see if I can figure this out. I will also get a script for insulin. My major concern is if I start insulin, she will be in the 20s again. What a cat! Any thoughts appreciated.

Tuffy's numbers often reflect stress. Were there any interlopers staring in through the back door?

No. I wonder if putting that halloween hat on her caused this. She was not happy.

did you recheck the test?

i had a strip last week that registered 24 - which i thought was impossible and when i tested again with a new strip it was 86. sometimes the strips are bad.

I rechecked the 224 and got 227. I did not recheck the other numbers. Tuffy tends to run low. It used to scare me but I adjusted.

well. Tuffy! what are you doing. I wonder if it was the stress - maybe she just didn't like the hat. if she wasn't happy... maybe it did cause the rise. i'd watch over the next few days. see how this pans out. I know you are right- if you restart insulin she will be in the 20's. There is that 46 at +5....

Holy cow...TUFFY!!!! I'm sure that AMBG gave you quite a start but she really brought herself down. I'm hoping it was just some kind of unseen stress.

Paws crossed future tests will have her only in normal numbers.

Well, I'm off to bed, 5:00 a.m. comes early and I need to take care of Khoko and move some hay. She will do her thing, whatever that may be. If she gets hungry, I'm sure I'll be told about it. See what tomorrow brings.

Good luck tomorrow, Barb! Sometimes stress does weird things. It might well have been the hat. I'm hoping that at 5 A.M. all will be back to Tuffy's normal.
