11/01 J.D. Back from vet

Yesterday's Condo

J.D. ate fine last night and I woke up to him laying over the top of my head. He went out on the deck for a few minutes after AMPS, but it's drizzely out there and the deck is wet, so after 1st Breffis he went back to the bedroom. He is now working on his 2nd Breffis laying next to my bed.

Ginger is sitting in J.D.'s carrier and has only eaten some treats so far, and doesn't want to come out of the carrier even to go outside. I hope she is okay. I tried to test her ear again last night, and after 4 pokes and no blood, and her purring the whole time, I gave her the skritches and treats and let her go. I hoping it's just the weather that's got her down.

I think, I don't have to work today. I am thinking about maybe trying to move their rabies shots and bloodwork to today.
I talked to my boss yesterday afternoon, and I may have to go to work on Saturday sometime. Tomorrow, which is Saturday is the day I was going to celebrate J.D.'s Birthday, since I have to work on his actual birthday on Monday.
My boss says sorry everything is up in the air. I have to set up the new Water Fountain, and I have some pet stairs that I bought him for Christmas that I never assembled, maybe I'll do that today, too.

We have the drizzles here too, and most of these guys are kinda "moping" around. I hope that's all that has Ginger down. Sounds like you're having a nice morning otherwise :-D Enjoy your day and I hope you get all your projects done. Pet stairs?

Or, Ginger could be getting depressed because we're leaving for vacation in a little over 2 weeks.

I bought these pet stairs from Bed Bath & Beyond while doing some last minute shopping last year. They don't have very good reviews :-| .

I just recently bought these. I have 2 of them. They have a plastic frame, but I like that the cover is washable.

I was finally able to get a BG on Ginger and she is 81, so that's good. She still hasn't eaten, but I don't watch her as closely as I do J.D., and she tends to always want food at +11, and goes around cleaning up any leftovers from the night before, so maybe she ate while I was still sleeping.

I got our vet appointments moved up to 2:00pm today, instead of tomorrow, so then I can get the test results tomorrow, hopefully, and I can be with them today if they are feeling out of sorts from the rabies shots.

J.D. was 72 about 45 minutes before the appointment, and the appointment was an hour long and he was 84 when we got home.

They both got their micro chips checked, one year live virus rabies vaccines, and blood work.
Ginger went first and they tried both sides of her neck and couldn't get to her jugular, so she got shaved on both sides of her neck, but finally had the blood drawn from her back leg. I had a T-4 added to hers because of the increased drinking lately. She is 11lbs. 1oz.
J.D. had a T-4 last time in September, so just had regular blood work, and I had a urinalysis added. J.D. is 11lbs. 9oz.

The urinalysis will be back today and the blood work tomorrow, but the vet will not be there tomorrow, so she wants me to wait until Monday for the phone call, so she can go over everything (blood work and urinalysis) together. So we wait.

The kitties hopped out of the car and walked home (we have a long walk from where the car is parked to where my condo is). The kitties took turns getting a drink from the watering can, and J.D. is now in his heated bed (I just pulled the plug out, as it is 72 in my house and I am sweating from the humidity) and Ginger is hanging out on the deck.

I am just wishing and hoping for very good test results from the both of them.

The doctor said the walking is a good thing for J.D. to keep his muscles strong, so we will continue. She also checked his ear and there was still some black stuff in there, so I am to re-start the Quadritop for another week.



I didn't get a chance to put the water fountain or the pet stairs together, yet, so I am going to do that now.
 
GREAT numbers for JD today. Sending many prayers that all blood and urine labs for both cats are spectacular.

Eat, Ginger, eat!! Feel better.
 
The stairs are very nice! Sending vines for good test results all around and for Ginger to eat up. Funny how they know when you're going away (even if it's in a couple weeks). They must feel it in the air (extra excitement and stress). A couple of mine are sensitive to that too. Have a great night. Hope the stairs work good :-D

Thank you for your suggestions and sharing of your experience in Lucy's condo.

I really hope J.D.'s and Ginger's lab results come out great.
All paws and fingers crossed we both can share good news next week.

Sending vines for good results for both of the kitties. Hope Ginger was just feeling under the weather and is back to her old self soon. At least her bg was good. Have a nice Sunday.
