Re: 11/01 Furball +10.25=245 AMPS=276

Hi Carla,

Hope Miss Furball has a good vetty visit. I know the dentals are necessary, but still scary! Cleo had one 10/03, and she didn't need any extractions, but my vet did not do xrays. Her mouth did seem to feel better after the dental, but it did not help her BG numbers. I was hoping that was why she starting going high on me.

Happy Friday - have a great day!

Glad to hear Furball was happy and purry this morning. :-D

Sending good vetty vines. Hope all is okay with her mouth and hoping she doesnt need a dental.

Hope you have a great day Carla.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes, but unfortunately Furball needs a dental and has an ear infection. She has tartar buildup on her teeth and gingivitis. The vet wanted to give me Tresaderm for her ear infection, but it has a steroid. She wasn't thinking about Furball's FD. For now she gave me some Clavamox to help with the ear infection while she checks out other alternatives that don't have a steroid. She said there is a possibility she could have something compounded that doesn't have a steroid. The Clavamox will also help with the gingivitis. The vet gave me a quote on the dental and it is almost $500. Now I have to come up with the money. Hopefully I can get it done soon. The quote also includes bloodwork.

When I got home and went to give Furball the Clavamox, I realized they forgot to mix it. It is just a powder. The vet is already closed, so I have to wait until tomorrow to take it back and have them mix it.

I checked Furball's BG right before I left for the vet and it was 177. That was 1 hour before her PMPS. I just got back from the vet in time to get her PMPS and still be on schedule since I am moving her shot back 15 min. for DST. The vet was running late. DST came in handy tonight. The PMPS is not bad with vetty stress.

Toofs & ears, too? Poor Furball. Hope you can get her back to purrfect health soon. Let's see a little blue tonight Furball!

Awww Furball has ear ouchies? Poor baby  Hope the Clav will start helping the ear soon and bring down her bg levels.

Ouch too, on the cost of the dental. I hope it's simple cleaning, with no removals.

Have a nice evening , Carla

Poor Furball, what a stressful way to end a day with nice blues. Sorry about the ears and toofies - I hope you can get the Clavamox mixed and get her going on it soon. Too bad you have to go back to the vet again tomorrow.

I'm sorry to hear about the ear infection...poor baby!!! And the dental!!

Can you pill Furball? I'd check the liquid because sometimes the powder has sweetener in it to make it more palatable. If it doesn't, it can taste nasty and she might not like it. If you can pill her, I'd see if they will take back the powder and give you the pills. Much easier. You can put butter on them, give her 3 mlx water, pill down the hatch, a little more water or food. Voila.

Sending healing vines for your sweet girl.

((Carla)), sending vines to Furball teeth and ear.
I've had to add water to Clavamox powder before, but I can't remember how much... and the liquid we've received has always been sweetened (smells & tastes like bubblegum  ). But in pill-form it isn't sweet.
Sorry you have to go back tomorrow.

Poor Furball! Hope the dental gets her mouth feeling and smelling sweet! Maybe the vets office can tell you how much water to mix with the powder and you won't have to go in?

Hope you are having a good night.

Boo hiss on the ear infection and the dental problems. Hope the clav. helps clear things up fast for Miss Furball. We like it best when our children feel good AND have pretty numbers. Sleep well, Carla!

Hi Carla,
I'm very sorry to hear that Furball has an ear infection and also needs a dental. Bummer! Rusty has some inflammation on his eardrum and is taking a medication (ear drops) that has a steroid, an antibiotic, and a antifungal in it. His bgs are going higher and higher each day. The vet told me that the corticosteroid would not raise his bg. Obviously that is not true. Good luck in finding a med without it. Please let us know which one you get.

Sending tons of healing vines to Furball,

Ella & Rusty

Hi Carla,
Sorry Furball has an ear infection and needs dental.
Poor girl!
Sending lots of healing vines.

Poor Furball! Sorry to hear about the teeth and the ear infection. I hope looking after those things will help her feel great, though.

Well good grief, one of those alone would be enough. I wish the vets could give the beans some nice meds to get us through these stressful times.

Sending heaps of vines to Furball and hugs to the beloved beans. :YMHUG:
