Bernie’s had an exciting morning splashing on the shore between the beach and lagoon.

Her BG was 180 mg/dL and she had food down when I went to bed but, apparently, was quite upset that it was in her feeder (and not fed to her on the ottoman), so she refused to touch it She woke me up shortly before her alarm gnawing on my arm LOL but, in her defense, her BG had dropped to 62 mg/dL since someone (*ahem*) didn’t want their overnight snacks She must’ve been eager to get back to the lagoon!

Super thankful she’s so smart to know to wake me up to “help” her defeat her feeder. As soon as I removed her bowl from her feeder, she ate LOL this cat...

Well Bernie's looking just fab lately!
What is it about the feeder that she is adverse to? lol. Is it that there is no human being attached to it? I know it took Butters a while to get used to eating out of the bowl, mind you she still misses many of her overnight snacks. She seems to sleep right through the sound of the motor turning the tray.

Thank you!! She’s doing so well, I’m so proud of her! She’s such a champ with the increased ear pokes. I tried using her left ear to give her right one a break (the right one bleeds better, I think because I can get a better angle on it, so I use her right probably 98% of the time), but she just shook her head and pulled her left one away and moved her right ear next to the lancet like “wrong ear, Mom!”

What is it about the feeder that she is adverse to? lol. Is it that there is no human being attached to it?

Hah probably! She goes through these phases where she’ll eat out of it just fine for weeks and then, out of nowhere, refuses to go near it or eat unless I sit on the floor right next to her and just stare at her while she eats - she looks up every couple of licks to make sure I’m still there haha! Then, after a few days of that, she’ll go back to eating out of the feeder like it never happened and looks at me like I’m nuts when I go to sit next to her LOL so confusing
I bought an old dresser with glass panels in the doors that I’m going to try to up-cycle into a “food cave” for her with one of those chip-reader doors so only she can get into it, but it’s been so hot I’ve been avoiding it - the garage is like 100° Hopefully the next few weeks it’ll cool down enough to finish it! She really likes eating in a little nook under my desk or, oddly enough, her cat carrier (I left it on the floor after a trip to the vet, and she claimed it and sleeps in it like 90% of the time LMAO), but her feeder doesn’t fit in either of those, so if I walk away, my other two cats move in like vultures. I’m hoping that making her a cave will do the trick!

I want to meet Bernie! She sounds like a hoot from your stories Nice couple of cycles for Bernie too! Maybe that helps you forgive her for her food serving preferences lol? PS - if she doesn't like sticking her head in the feeder, I've heard some people get little bowls that fit in the feeder and it seems to help (I haven't done this, just have seen it recommended).

She’s one of the biggest goofballs, she has so much personality! I tried to get a screenshot of her “attending” one of my Zoom calls this morning - she was sitting behind me, staring straight at the screen watching everyone so attentively, but I accidentally screen-shot something else and lost the pic. Maybe next time

Hah so true! And I don’t blame her at all, if I had a giant human that followed me around and gave me back rubs every time I refused to eat, I’m positive I’d also refuse to eat until I got my back massage too

That’s a cool idea about the bowls! I’ll have to look into that for sure!
