It's Caturday in LL!! I know it's difficult to start this day feeling cheery with Bear Man gone and Linda's beautiful and moving post. It hit so very hard to home with the loss of our Maxie that I was not able to read it all and respond without gallons of tears so I'll try again later because Linda and Bear deserve it.

WCR: Gracie slept with me last night!!! She used to do it every single night, curled up in my arms but since Tobey came and the FD, she hasn't. So I was so excited to have her next to me again. She's quiet this morning...AMPS are much higher than I had hoped but I am holding on for some lower numbers today. I wonder if there could be anything wrong with this vial of Lantus...I only opened it Sep 13 so it's approaching 28 days but so many of you have said you have gotten much longer from your vials. It is clear...no floateys so I don't know. If there is no improvement by Monday, I'm going to have my vet call in the pens for me.

DH is gone and I have lots of yard work to do this weekend as the temps have finally fallen. We have an annual block party at our house on the last Sat of Oct each year so I have much to do in the yard to prepare for that as this summer's heat roasted even some of my "drought tolerant" plants. So after some ~O) ~O) ~O) and breffis I'll check back again.

hi, guys! hey...got an idea for you...we were laying sod in our yard...had a kegger and set it up in the back corner and told folks..."you want beer...drag this 2x4 back to the keg." that yard was level in NO time! i'd have em weeding at the block party...not, of course that i'm promoting alcohol ingestion...but i find folks is more happy to pitch in when they soused. :))

Morning Marjorie and Gracie. That was a pretty flat day yesterday, baby girl, how bout looking for the blues today? I hear ya on Linda's post, I was unable to reply to yet as well, but I will. I was wonderful of her to post it - she's still thinking of others and honoring Bear Man, even in such a sad time. Hope you guys have a great day, and good luck with the yard work. Block party last Saturday of the month you say? I'll try and make it ;-) :lol:

So much for my yard work and visiting condos later. Guess the insulin is ok, too. I gave her +2 4% snack with just a tiny, tiny bit of 18% gravy (like Michelle does w/Mannie) to try and slow the dive a bit...hope it works and doesn't shoot her back up. Should I recheck in 30 mins or an hour with that big of a dive? Thanks!!

If you hadn't fed, I'd have said check in 30 min. With the LC food and HC topper, I think you can wait an hour. (Gracie -- please don't make a liar out of me!)

Celi....love the idea...only no weeds...summer burnt them up...but I can have them out there with jackhammers trying to break through the caliche..but I'd have to have some kind of crazy foo foo drinks as the neighbors are the foo foo drinking kind (and can't imagine one single one of them would get their hands dirty)...unlike our close friends who will drink anything that says "beer" :lol: :lol: :lol:

Anne...looks like baby girl has some other ideas for me today....that's ok...I was getting really tired of yellow. Hey..come on over....everyone in LL is invited..I am sure they will be MUCH more fun than our neighbors...they are all very nice but not our usual rambunctious, fun loving crowd.

Sienne...you crack me up...yes, unpredictable aren't they? I've got her under close eye so I'll recheck at +3 and see whas up. Thanks!!

Ok..so she dropped another 60 w/HC..little devil..MANNIE... this sounds like you...did you and Baby Gracie sneak off last night? Anyway...fed 1 tsp 4% (has last of her supplements in it) and 1 tsp 18%..recheck in 30 due to her drop.

I gave her some HC at +3 and she's holding steady so I think I'm not going to feed this number and see if in 30 she comes down a bit. Advice?? Thanks!!

I didn't feed at +3.5 or +4....so looks like Gracie can't take the 18% to slow her down on a dive...it seems to reverse her. Will recheck at +5.

Happy Caturday Marjorie! It appears that Gracie got tired of heights and decided to come down to check out the lower level. Good for her I had been waiting for condo today to see how things were going. I'm with you in trying to figure what to feed when you want to stop the plunge and get a surf going on. It seems though you know when to step in. :thumbup
I was able to take the time today to work the links for Powder's SS and Profile. I couldn't have done it without your help :-D Many thanks! Powder thinks the way it looks is nice. He had always admired Gracies. Hope you get a lot done today.

Thanks, Lisa!!! I think I over controlled her this morning in my experimentation to slow down her dive. So next time she tries to dive (and I'm sure she will), we'll try 10% instead of 18%. She's felt so great this morning and is laying on her enclosed patio on her back (her fav position) and sunning her beautiful spotted tummy...zerbicks time :lol:

Love reading about your feeding-the-curve trials, Marjorie, it's good info for me to learn from as I start my own food experiments. Never had to worry about it before, cause dry food just messes everything up :lol:

Hi Marjotie - looks like Gracie has plans for you - thought she might after her flat yellow day yesterday. She may be more carb sensitive than Mannie. last nights dive for him was for certain an 18% carb night - which kept him on an even keel. sometimes it does what it did to Gracie today - pull the numbers back up, at which point i either go with a lower carb food, or not feed at all - it all depends on where we are in the cycle, and what numbers I am seeing. I think you did great today!! And now you have even more data - more tools in your arsenal when she dives again. Nice job!

and enjoy your yard work. none here - it's raining - oh what a shame - so i have an excuse!

Hey Gracie - you don't want to work in the yard tell you bean you are coming here. We can play in the back yard, or go watch the fish in the creek nearby. maybe even do some fishing. I have rain gear so we won't get wet... see you!! ~~ Mannie

Oh Gracie....you were doing so well in the blues....Yellow doesn't look very good on ya honey.

Majorie.....I glanced at Gracie's profile and larger photo....she so darn cute...luv the painting of her as well.. your friend is very talented....and it seems so are you...ice dancing.....is your middle name "grace"?.....So if you combine two of your talents....golf and ice dancing...you get golf dancing...or ice golfing....I would like to see the golf dancing.....

Tena...that's funny...actually I do golf dance if I hit a great shot :lol: :lol: :lol: Ice golfing...now that would be interesting. Unfortunately, they closed our only ice rink in town two years ago so I haven't been able to skate...so I went back to golf which I love and which gets me out in nature more than skating around an ice rink :lol: :lol:
Thanks about Gracie...yes she is veerrrrrryyyyy cute and has a really amazing little purrsonality.

So..we're back where we started this morning. I'm going to grab some dinner out with friends and get back in time to check +3 or maybe +2 since we're going nearby.
